To access Online Application Information, you must first log-on to your MyCUES account. If you already know the process to access your MyCUES account, skip to page 12.

OPENING MyCUES Icon:

Access MyCUES in one of the following ways:

o Click on the MyCUES icon on your PC desktop. o Go to www.cupowerweb.com, under the Menu on the left hand side of the screen, click

on human resources and then click mycues. o Go to www.cityutilities.net and click on the Employee link at the bottom of the screen.

SIGNING INTO MyCUES for the first time or CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD: If you are logging into MyCUES for the first time or need to change your password, click on the Change Password hyperlink on the left side of the page. You should change your password to something easy to remember.

Enter your User ID and your old password. (If you are logging into MyCUES for the first time, use the password that was emailed to you with your User ID.) Enter your new password in then enter it again in the Confirm new password box. Click OK. Your new password must be a minimum of eight (8) characters.

Once your password is successfully changed, you will receive the screen shown above. Click on the Close Window hyperlink to continue.

SIGNING OUT OF MyCUES: Click on the Sign Out hyperlink in the upper right corner of the screen when you're finished with your session. This will protect the security of your information and will help the system free up resources for other users.

PASSWORD ASSISTANCE: If you have forgotten your password, click on the Need Login Assistance hyperlink on the left side of the login page as shown below.

Enter your User ID and your MyCUES email address and click on the Submit button. Note: This email address may be your CU or home email, and is the email address you provided on the Personal Information Summary page.

This is the screen that you would receive after sending your request for Login assistance. You should receive an email with your new temporary password within a few minutes. The next time you try to log in, you will be prompted to change your password to something that is meaningful to you.

As you click on the individual menu items, remember that what you are seeing is a reflection of your personal information contained in CUES. At this point in time, Change Email Address is the only menu that will allow you to make changes online. If any information is incorrect or has changed, you will find links to the proper forms to allow Human Resources (HR), Payroll or Benefits to make your requested changes. You may click on the menu choices on the side menu or on the main menu. Either choice will allow you access.

Personal Information Summary

This menu shows your personal information. Using the scroll bar on the right of the screen, scroll down to review all information. If you need to make any changes, you will need to click on the Personnel Data Form hyperlink to access the proper form that will need to be completed and sent to HR for changes to your record.

Note that your Social Security Number only has the last 4 digits visible. This is to provide additional security.

Change Email Address This screen reflects your email address. This address will be used by the system to relay password information only. Note: If your page does not contain an email address, you will need to click the Add your MyCUES Email Address button and enter an email address.

Education

This screen shows your post secondary education. If you have a degree that is not shown, it is probably because HR has never been provided with the proper documentation to enter your information into the system. By clicking on the any degree listed, you can get more information about that degree.

This is the Education Detail screen. If your information is not shown, contact HR to see what documentation they need to get your information entered into CUES.

You may access MyCUES in one of the following ways (computers are available in the CU Main Office Training Center Lobby Area):

o Click on the MyCUES icon on your CU PC desktop. o Go to www.cupowerweb.com, under the Menu on the left hand side of the screen, click

on human resources and then click mycues. o Go to www.cityutilities.net and click on the Employee link at the bottom of the screen.

You may click on the menu choices on the side menu or on the expanded menu. Either choice will allow you access. ONLINE APPLICATION INFORMATION Choose the Recruiting Activities, Careers menu item.

Once you open the Careers menu item, you will be directed to your Careers Home page, shown below. Your Careers Home page will display the latest Job Postings. Postings are available to view for five business days, per the current Job Bidding and Posting Procedures. Internal postings are only available to view by Employees, via your MyCUES log-on. There may be old applications listed in the My Career Tools box if you have applied for a position in the past. Please disregard any old applications that are listed.

An EVERYONE email, with the Job Posting attached, will still be sent out to Staff Support and posted for those who do not have email. A revised Job Bid Application form is available (on the PowerWeb under forms and policies, Human Resource Forms or at the Employment Office) for employees who do not apply online and want to complete a paper Job Bid Application. This form has been revised to reflect the online application format. To review a Job Posting, simply click on the Job Title highlighted in blue.

To apply for the Job Posting, put a check in the box next to the position you wish to apply for,

and click Apply Now. Apply Noww

Completing Your Application: You will first be prompted to Choose a Resume Option.

Note: You will not be able to use a USB port on the CU Training Center Lobby computers to upload attachments. If you have a resume or other attachments you wish to submit with your job application, you may:

Choose the Copy and Paste resume text option and manually enter your resume information. Apply from a different computer (home, library, Career Center) that has a USB port. If neither option is possible for you, contact the Employment Office (417) 831-8460, for

assistance. Choose one of the following Resume Options:

o Upload a new resume: Select the Upload a new resume option and click Continue. You may browse for and select the resume you wish to upload. Once you select your resume, enter a name for the resume in the Resume Title field and click Continue. This option will not work if applying from a CU Training Center Lobby computer.

o Copy and paste resume text: Select the Copy and paste resume text option and click

Continue. Enter a name for the resume in the Title field, copy and paste your resume text or manually enter your information into the Resume fields and click Continue.

o Apply without using a resume: You are not required to submit a resume with your

application. Choose Apply without using a resume and click Continue. If you have already applied and submitted a resume, the option of Use an existing resume will appear, and you will have the option to select a resume you have already uploaded.

Note: Your personal information (name, address, etc) will automatically pull over from the CUES system. If you wish to change any of this information, please contact Human Resources to complete an updated Personnel Data form.

Using the scroll bar on the right of the screen, scroll down to review and complete all information.

o Add Work Experience

o Add Education

o Add Job Training

o Add Licenses and Certificates

Note: Any Education information you enter on your application will not be automatically be updated in the CUES system. To verify what your education is entered in CUES, please refer to page 11. If you wish to change any of this information, please contact Human Resources.

Save, Submit and Close Application buttons are at the bottom of the application. Save e The save button allows you to save a draft of your online application information and submit the application at a later time. Once saved, the job application appears in the My Applications scroll area on the My Career Tools page with a status of Not Applied. Applicants click on the job application to access the application, make changes if needed, and resave as a draft or submit. Submit The submit button will submit your application to Employment. Once your application is submitted, you cannot go back in and make changes to your information. Make sure you have completed the application in full and are ready to submit your information before you hit this button. Close Application The Close Application button closes out your application and takes you back to your My Career Tools page. Your information will not be saved, unless you click the Save button.

Submitting Your Application: When you have completed all applicable information and are ready to Submit your application, scroll to the bottom of the screen. You will see the below message: Note: It is your responsibility to ensure that all documents on file concerning your eligibility for this position, including relevant test scores, are current by the posted deadline. Materials contained in your personnel file will not be automatically forwarded. You may attach any relevant documents to this application for which you wish to receive consideration. If you want to submit any attachments (cover letters, certificates, letters of recommendation) with your application, refer to page 17.

If you are ready to submit your information, click Submit to send your completed application to the Employment Office. After you click Submit, you will receive email notification that your application has been received, given you provided an email address on your My Profile page. You can double check that your information was submitted by accessing your My Career Tools box on the Careers page. You will want to make sure the status on the position you are applying for reads “Applied”. Refer to page 18 for instructions on how to View Submitted Job Applications. Once you have submitted your information, changes cannot be made. If you need to change your information for any reason, contact the Employment Office at (417) 831-8460 for assistance.

Understanding Attachments: You may want, or be required to, submit additional documents with your application, such as: • Cover letters • References • Certifications

• Transcripts • Driving Record • Letters of Recommendation

You may submit attachments from your Careers Home page, in the My Career Tools box. Click on the Cover Letters and Attachments Letters link. To submit an attachment, select an attachment type, enter an attachment purpose and click Add Attachment to browse for and upload the attachment. Click Save & Return to save the attachment and return to the My Career Tools page.

Applicants may view all submitted attachments in the Cover Letters and Attachments section of the My Career Tools page. Applicants can click an attachment file name to view the attachment. Applicants may also delete attachments and edit the attachment type and purpose on the My Attachments and Cover Letters - Add Attachments page. Note: There is not a USB port on the Training Center Lobby computers. You will not be able to attach documents if using the Training Center Lobby computers. Please refer to page 14 for attachment options.

Viewing Submitted Job Applications: Applicants may view all submitted job applications in the My Career Tools box on the Careers Home page. Click on the Applications link and then click on the application you wish to view. Changes cannot be made to any submitted job application information. From the My Career Tools box, you may also view Cover Letters and Attachments and Resume information. The My Profile link displays your Name, Address, Email and Phone information. MyProfile information cannot be updated. To change or update My Profile information, contact Human Resources.

If the application you want to review is not listed, you may have to use the drop-down menu Display applications from: to find the application you are looking for.
