2015 Building a Better Care Delivery System Our fiscal year ended on October 1, 2014. We ended the year with one of the best financial years in the history of FMCH. We are now almost five months into our new fiscal year and things seem to have slowed down. While we are seeing record number of patients in our My Care Walk-in Clinic and Emergency Room, our numbers are down in other service areas. But even with these challenges, FMCH continues to focus on quality health care at a reasonable cost, positioning us as a leader in Value Based Purchasing indicators among Iowa health care organizations. As our new Marketing campaign states, the face of health care may be changing, but the things that matter most will never change at FMCH including providing quality, compassion, results, empathy, communication, teamwork and respect to all those who come to us for care. Our goal is to continue to build a better care delivery system and address head on the changing health care needs of our community. In 2015, we will continue to improve the safety and accessibility of our facility with a renovation of the Emergency Department. We will also be evaluating the growing needs of our Birthplace. And we continue to move forward on our joint venture with Blessing to open the Keokuk Medical Center, a primary care clinic, in 2015. In closing, I personally want to thank you for choosing FMCH for all of your health care needs and invite you to take our enclosed survey to help us serve you better.

Employees Hired in 2014
2014 Employees of the Month
A little over six years ago, Fort Madison Community Hospital embarked on a journey of hardwiring excellence. We engaged the services of the Studer Group to help us reshape our culture through the use of proven tools. By executing the FMCH Culture of Excellence, quality has remained at its core. As we continue on this journey we have implemented a number of consistent tactics, processes and principles to help drive quality while controlling costs. We rely on the passion of our employees to provide the very best care possible while achieving success with evidence based practices. There have been many quality indicators identified that ensure that safety and positive outcomes for all patients is at the core of all that we do at FMCH.
These results are from patients who had overnight hospital stays from
January 2014 through December 2014. As reported by Press Ganey.
