Chair of Trustees
As Chair of Trustees for Burnley FC in the Community, I am delighted to introduce to you our CSR brochure for the 2018/19 season. This is a unique and exciting time for the business community to get involved with BFCitC. As the clubʼs official charity, weʼre using the increasing power and inspirational status of Burnley FC to create real, tangible change in both the communities surrounding Turf Moor and further afield. In the last year alone, BFCitC engaged with over 25,000 local people across a huge spectrum of community initiatives and invested £2.65m in the local area. Through disability sport, walking football, mental health support, free football sessions, outdoor education, employability mentoring and support for armed forces veterans, BFCitC is proving to be an unparalleled force for good. And thatʼs just the tip of the iceberg – there are so many ways this charity is shaping the futures of countless people. As a born and bred Pendle resident, a lifelong Claret, a Burnley FC Director and a local business owner myself, itʼs clear to me that this is the organisation that local businesses should be aiming to partner with. With a clear, ambitious strategy driven by myself, my fellow trustees and our Chief Executive Officer, Neil Hart – and with unparalleled links to the only Premier League club in East Lancashire – the benefits of working with BFCitC are numerous. If you are looking to get involved, whether itʼs with time, volunteers, finance or resources, BFCitC can provide your business with excellent marketing, PR and networking opportunities, as well as an impressive association with brand-Burnley FC. This is the time to be part of our story. Come and join us.
Brian Nelson, Chair of Trustees for Burnley FC in the Community
