1. EMOTIONAL SELF-AWARENESS

One must be aware how to use his emotions in aproper way and must be certain what actually hewants to do. People with greater certainty about theirfeelings are better pilots of their lives and have asurer sense about how they feel about personaldecisions.

( “A  person must be certain about the next step he isgoing to take then only he will be able to plan andexecute it properly” )

2. MANAGING ONE’S OWN EMOTIONS 

We do have tremendous individual variability in thedegree to which we can consciously limit the durationof unpleasant emotions and the degree of influence

over the behaviors which may arise.

Example: A manager in any organization have to maintain hisemotional balance irrespective of the problems he is

facing, because his position requires him tocoordinate with others and use their ability and skillsin an effective and efficient way

3. USING EMOTIONS TO MAXIMIZE DECISION MAKING

 As a person matures, emotions begin to shape and

improve thinking by directing a person’s attention toimportant changes.

In an organization many a times important

decisions are needed to be took on the basis of experience and emotions and not on facts.

4. DEVELOPING EMPATHY 

Empathy is the ability to recognize another’s emotionalstate.

 A successful manager is one who is able to handleothers emotions in such a way that he is able to get hiswork done through others in an efficient way.

For this he must keep himself on the place of employeeand then think about his requirements , needs ,wantswhile doing that job this will help him to motivate hisemployee emotionally in a proper way.

5. THE ART OF SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS

To excel at people skills means having and using thecompetencies to be an effective friend, negotiator, andleader. One should be able interact, inspire others, make

others comfortable in social situations, and influence andpersuade others.
