Total Quality Management (TQM)
Definition of quality: the ability (degree of accomplishments/excellence) of a product or service to satisfy the requirements of clients/customers
Total Quality Management (TQM) is a comprehensive and structured strategy to manage the quality of products and services by making improvements through continuous feedback and assessment.
In recent years, TQM requirements have been defined by organization to adherent to established standards, such as the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO, 1946) standards series. ISO 9000 (1987, 2000) family addresses "quality
management". ISO 14000 (1996, 2004) family addresses "environmental
management”

ISO Management System Standards
Plan-Do-Check-Act is the operating principle of the ISO’s management system standards Plan: set clear objectives and develop plans
accordingly Do: implementation Check: assessment based on pre-determined
objectives and metrics Act: continuous evaluations leading to subsequent
improvements

Quality Management Principles
The eight quality management principles for the revised ISO 9000:2000 series are: Principle 1: Customer focus Principle 2: Leadership Principle 3: Involvement of people Principle 4: Process approach Principle 5: System approach to management Principle 6: Continual improvement Principle 7: Factual approach to decision making Principle 8: Mutually beneficial supplier relationshi
