PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
RESOURCES
Emily Quach
MOOC
• MOOC, or massive open online course, is a great way for people to learn in a digital environment
and acquire new knowledge from credible resources for free.
• The MOOC I use is edX.org. This site has many great courses on almost everything. I recently
finished my course in “Positive Behavior Support in Early Childhood Education”, which taught me
how to effectively manage aggressive behaviors in the preschool setting. This course allowed me
to grow professionally because it relates to the age group in which I am currently teaching.

PINTEREST• Pinterest.com is another resource to gain
professional development. It is free and provides
many resources on almost everything.
• I tend to use this site as a way to grow
professionally and continuously receive updates
on new educational tools, apps, software, and
ideas to integrate technology. In addition, I often
use Pinterest.com to look for arts and crafts
ideas and other grade level resources for my
pre-k students.

TECH & LEARNING• TechLearning.com is a great resource that provides
articles and updates about technology integration and
educational products and software.
• Recently, I am using this website to read articles and
blogs that are beneficial to my role as a technology
integration mentor and a pre-kindergarten teacher.
For example, a month ago, I found a great article
about how to create a professional development hub.
As a result, I created a professional development hub
for my school as a way to promote collaboration and
professional training my colleagues.

CSU FULLERTON’S POLLAK LIBRARY
• CSUF’s Pollak Library is a digital library that provides
students access to scholarly articles on any topic.
• With this resource, I often look for journal articles to
aid my research on educational-related topics.
Throughout this pass year, I read and gained a great
deal of knowledge on the following topics: teaching
with mobile devices, student’s motivation, distance
learning education, classroom management software,
effective instructional design, and educational
simulation games.
