A Category Three tropical hurricane blasted Long Island and much of New England on September 21, wreaking havoc and taking 680 lives. We mobilized 400 men and trucks and began emergency tree clearance and telephone and power restoration work. This ability to respond quickly in adverse circumstances firmly established Henkels & McCoy as a key player in power restoration and utility infrastructure construction. Our long history is replete with specfic examples of prompt, effective action in the face of the most challenging disasters. Years of experience have taught us, as only experience can, that when it comes to emergency response, one thing is clear: there is a signifcant difference between reacting and responding.
