Both planners are still convinced that an appropriate determination has been made, and intend to continue with a recommendation to approve, but they did concede that there are sufficient issues raised in the conflict between planning policy which supports tourism and increases diversity in rural businesses and the impact upon the amenity of local residents affected by changes, to be sufficient reason for the Committee to consider the application. I'm told that it will go to the next meeting which is at 4.00 pm on 12th April. I have a concern that because at that meeting the Committee will also be considering the £500M Solent Gateway application which has a massive impact on the redesign of East Cowes town centre, including forced relocations of marine businesses and compulsory purchase orders on several premises, the issue of longer hours for a small rural cafe will be overshadowed. Unfortunately I am unable to influence the date nor the order in which applications are dealt with. It's likely that because of the length of time allocated to the major application, few slots for objections on other applications will be accepted. Probably myself, a representative from Shalfleet PC, and one, perhaps two representations from residents. All of the various objections will need to be covered within those slots with a probable time allocation of no more than 10 -15 minutes total. Dear All,

I'm pleased to say that after an initial rejection, I had a meeting on Tuesday with Head of Planning,Deputy Chair of Planning and case officer, and they have now accepted my request that this shouldbe put before the Planning Committee.

Both planners are still convinced that an appropriate determination has been made, and intend tocontinue with a recommendation to approve, but they did concede that there are sufficient issuesraised in the conflict between planning policy which supports tourism and increases diversity in ruralbusinesses and the impact upon the amenity of local residents affected by changes, to be sufficientreason for the Committee to consider the application.

I'm told that it will go to the next meeting which is at 4.00 pm on 12th April.

I have a concern that because at that meeting the Committee will also be considering the £500MSolent Gateway application which has a massive impact on the redesign of East Cowes town centre, including forced relocations of marine businesses and compulsory purchase orders on severalpremises, the issue of longer hours for a small rural cafe will be overshadowed.
