These open nights highlight the work that has been taking place in classes and has the ability to engage parents in some activities as well. These are not concert nights and should be attended by the immediate caregivers rather than extended family members so that students can interact with their immediate family and everyone can fit in the classrooms. Citizenship and Endeavour Awards will also be presented. End of Year Formal reports will be made available online on Monday, 10 December 2018. As the end of the school year is fast approaching, would parents please ensure all reading books, library books and Unexplained Absence letters are returned to school as soon as possible. The library staff will issue invoices for items not returned to school. Please let us know if you have any queries regarding the invoice, if you receive one. PARKING Parents and Caregivers are reminded that if you are driving cars around the school environment, you need to be following the City of Swan and Police Traffic laws and by-laws. As stated previously, school gates to car parks are opened in the afternoons once we are certain our special needs students are secure within the school buildings. Cars cannot park in front of the carpark gates blocking pedestrian access, as well as causing traffic to bank up on the roads. If the gates are closed, please find an alternate place to park until they are opened, or drive another circuit around the school. Thank you for following the road laws that are there to protect all of the families in the school community. Class ActivitesClass ActivitesClass ActivitesClass Activites Last Friday, Year 1 students from LB1.5 and LB2.1 investigated ways in which to prepare healthy meals. Students have been learning about the importance of exercising and choosing healthy food options, as part of the Health curriculum. In lessons leading up to the cooking experience, students designed their own healthy smoothie recipe. Three of these were chosen to be made and all students were able to sample them. Most students’ favourite one was made with frozen mixed berries, bananas and beetroot! They then enjoyed making some rice paper rolls with either vegetable of fruit fillings.

Thank you to Ellenbrook, for providing the fruit and vegetables and thank you to the parent helpers, who were able to help out and join in with the fun!

PPPPE CornerE CornerE CornerE Corner LUNCHTIME BASKETBALL COMPETITION

Congratulations to ‘Team Name’, for winning the lunch time basketball competition. The grand final was a very close and low scoring game. Some of the round matches and finals were very closely fought and demonstrated some excellent skills, especially shooting. Thanks to all of our Year 6 students who helped referee, set-up and score the games. A huge thank you to all the spectators, it was great to see so much encouragement and team spirit (some cheer squads even created posters)!

LUNCHTIME DODGEBALL COMPETITION

The lunchtime Dodgeball competition is well under way. It is great to see so many teams nominate and take part. The competition will continue over the next two weeks, culminating in a Staff vs Student match. The teachers are preparing to regain their title this year. Good luck to all of our teams.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION LESSONS

Golf lessons are continuing this week and some of our students are really gaining confidence with their chipping and putting skills.
