    Exodus 15:27

And they came to ELIM, where were TWELVE WELLS of WATER, and threescore and ten

PALM TREES: and they encamped there by the WATERS. This was a beautiful oasis with water

and shade, springs and palm trees, and the people rested nearly a month.

    Wells represent refreshing and joy

    Isaiah 12:3

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Elim means palms. This was a place of twelve wells and seventy palms. !2 and 70 are numbers

of government. !2 is the number of the Apostolic. There were seventy elders under Moses, and

Jesus sent out seventy in addition to the twelve apostles.

Elim is therefore a picture of the apostolic church. It is a symbol of apostolic government and

kingdom rule. It is a place of water and refreshing. It is a place of palm trees.

Palm trees are a prophetic symbol of righteousness, judgment, stature, prosperity, beauty,

    victory, covering, and protection.

Deborah Judged Israel under a palm tree

And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim:

and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. (Judges 4:5)

The temple was adorned with palm trees (beauty):

The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm

trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and

upon the palm trees.(1 Kings 6:32)

The palm tree is a symbol of prosperity:

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

    (Psa.92:12)

The palm tree is a symbol of stature:

This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes. (Song ofSolomon

    7:7)

Israel greeted the king with palms

Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the

King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. (John 12:13)

Palms are a symbol of victory

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and

kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with

white robes, and palms in their hands; (Rev.7:9)

The palm tree looks like an umbrella. It is a symbol of covering and protection.

Elim, the place of palms, is a symbol of apostolic government, protection, covering, history,

refreshing, rest, prosperity, beauty, joy, and the kingdom.
