MONSIGNOR MORRISON SCHOOL BUSING For the last 5 years the children of Monsignor Morrison School have been bused to Holy Angels' Church for their monthly school Mass through the generosity of parishioners. Previously, Masses were celebrated in the school gym. We recognize that many of our families do not come to church regularly. Faith development is the responsibility of all baptized Catholics. Our parish mission is: Jesus said, "Go make disciples....I am with you always." Our vision: "Strengthened by the Eucharist, we are moved to bring healing to a wounded world." By bringing our students to the Church, they get to experience the beautiful and prayerful atmosphere of celebrating Mass in its proper context. Busing the children is costly; however the positive impact on these children's lives and their families outweighs the cost. The cost has increased from $650 to $730 to bus all the students to the church per Mass. The school provides, through the board budget, the money to send the students to two Masses. We are looking to raise funds so that students can attend all 10 Masses during the school year at the church. We greatly appreciate all the parishioners and their families who have supported busing for the last five years. We have witnessed the joy on the faces of the children celebrating these Masses. We count on your support for this year. The school Masses are open for all to attend. This is also a great way to begin building relationships with the children and their families, so that they discover what a wonderful family of parishes we are. Thank you in advance for your generosity. The Pastoral Team

PRO-LIFE NEWS! Important Dates and Events Sunday, October 6 - Annual Life Chain: Join tens of thousands across our nation in a silent prayerful witness. Abortion kills children and harms society. Our "community" Life Chain is on Talbot Street in front of Holy Angels' Church from 1 - 2 p.m. Meet in the parking lot at 12:45 p.m. Stand or bring a chair. All are welcome! 40 DAYS FOR LIFE FALL CAMPAIGN runs from September 25 to November 2, 2019. It is a peaceful and prayerful witness at the corner of Wellington Rd. and Commissioners Rd., in front of Victoria Hospital. Our 5 churches “TOGETHER” will fill “OUR” time slot which is Saturday, October 26th from 7a.m. – 7 p.m. Sign up time slots for you to “sign up” are at the back of each church. In addition to choosing a time on Oct. 26, please look on-line to join in and WITNESS FOR LIFE as often as possible, Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To book more shifts go to www.40daysforlife.com/london-2 . LIFE IS A GIFT FROM GOD. For more information, please see the poster at the back of each church or contact Angie at 519-764-2043.

OLOS’ SUNDAY FRIENDS NEED YOU!! We are currently looking for returning and new volunteers, both adults and youth (Gr. 6 & up)! If you are interested in being a part of bringing the word of God to our youngest family members, please contact Melissa Hoffer at 519-495-4013 or email [email protected] for more details. For us to run our program this year, we need more adult volunteers! Our start date will be announced when our numbers allow for it. Thank you to all our past, present and future volunteers!!

OLOS CWL: Hope everyone had a wonderful summer and are ready to begin again. Let's get back into the swing of things beginning with our September 18th meeting, which will follow the 10 a.m. Mass. This will be a longer than usual meeting as we have a lot of information to pass along so plan on a lite lunch at noon and then we will continue on with the meeting. Pot Pies are scheduled to be made on September 25th and 26th; they will be the beef pies this time and will cost $3.50. There are sheets at the back of the church to place your order. You will be called for pick-up. Please remember the Bazaar on Tuesday November 5th. There are a few changes for the bake table and country store and they will be discussed at the September meeting. So, it is important members attend so we are all following the new guidelines set out by the Health Inspector. We have the Fall Regional Days set for October 19th at Holy Angel's Church. Please set this date aside and plan to attend.

LOST AND FOUND Welcome to “Lost and Found Sunday”! Just in case being in church makes us proudly consider ourselves especially religious, today’s Gospel suggests that we’d be wiser to admit that we’re sometimes lost. Then we’ll eventually be happily counted among Jesus’ “found,” because today Jesus focuses on a lost sheep, lost coin, lost son. Jesus does so because the Pharisees and scribes, proudly considering themselves especially religious, “began to complain” that Jesus “welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So Jesus warns them—and us—to stop judging others. Marvel instead that God’s amazing grace has found us! Indeed, we should become Jesus’ friends lovingly trying to find others. So Exodus asks, if God “relented in punishment” and pardoned us, shouldn’t we forgive fellow sinners graciously? Even Paul admits his “arrogance” as “foremost among sinners.” We too, happy at being “mercifully treated,” should share with everyone else Jesus’ unfailing patience. (Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.)

SPANISH MASSES will be held on Sunday, September 15th at St. Mary’s Church at 6 p.m. and on Saturday, September 28th at OLOS Mass at 7 p.m. with a reception in the hall afterwards. CORNER CUPBOARD FOOD BANK IN AYLMER: September is here, and as always, THIS IS OUR (OLOS) MONTH to step forward and support our neighbours. To add a twist this year, we are focusing on a food category…canned fruit: slice peaches, fruit cocktail, canned pears, mandarin oranges, apple sauce, pineapple, etc. Unfortunately we can not accept home canning so canned fruit would be very welcomed. These items can be a real treat and are often left off wish lists as they need the daily basics first. Cash/cheques will also be accepted to go towards milk, eggs, ground beef and other perishable items, and can be put in the collection basket clearly marked. Please make cheques payable to East Elgin Community Assistance Program. (EECAP) Income tax receipt for donations of $20.00 or more. Our contact person is Liz McConnell at [email protected] or 519-773-5773. Let's make this a "fruitful" month! “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me” Matthew 25:40 OUR LADY OF SORROWS FRONT STEPS: Work on repairs to the front steps is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 17th and will take several days. Please use the side door entrance and be careful around the construction.
