Elastomer and ThermoplasticComponents and Assemblies For
Motorized Vehicles
Minnesota Rubber and Plastics
is one of the most experienced
manufacturers of elastomer and
thermoplastic components and
assemblies supplying the sealing
needs of the transportation
industries since 1945. For both
static and dynamic applications,
our expertise in engineering design,
materials R&D, manufacturing and
assembly has made us the preferred
supplier for OEM’s around the globe.
We know the demands of the transportation
industries require a deep knowledge and
experience with end market applications. It
also requires component design and materials knowledge
for products that function without failure in demanding
environments.
Specialized Applications Today increased regulations and standards, along with more
demanding operating environments, challenge materials and
designs with aggressive fl uids, fuels and longer warranty
periods.
■ With passenger cars our high performance plastic capabilities
replace more expensive and heavier metal components.
■ In heavy duty trucks our materials
expertise provides sealing solutions
for reduced weight, noise and
increased safety.
■ For agriculture and
construction equipment
our component designs
and assemblies offer
cost-effective
alternatives.
■ Our rail track and rolling
stock products provide
excellent vibration &
insulation qualities for
high speed rail systems
in Europe and Asia.

Technology BasedMinnesota Rubber and Plastics
broad range of high performance
elastomers, fl uoroelastomers
and thermoplastics, such as PEEK,
Aurum®, Torlon® or Ultem® are
engineered to meet demanding
sealing applications by providing
long-term protection against wear,
high temperatures and corrosive
operating environments.
Our technical design and
materials groups can help
you solve critical issues so you can
manufacture quality products cost-effectively.
Global ReachToday most companies utilize global sourcing as a key
component of their procurement strategy to expand or develop
new markets as they look to control costs.
At Minnesota Rubber and Plastics we leverage our experience
with your requirements across our North American, Asian and
European manufacturing and resource base to design, develop,
manufacture and deliver precision components and assemblies.
What’s more, our 6 manufacturing facilities are complemented
by our global warehousing and logistics operations.
Commitment To QualityAll Minnesota Rubber and Plastics design, development
and production facilities operate under corporate wide
quality systems including ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9000.
Our facilities also operate under a corporate wide
Environmental Management System registered to the
International Standards Organization series ISO 14001.

Committed To Innovation While Providing Solutions
Expanding Markets – Decreasing CostsIn our industry we are uniquely positioned to offer both
rubber and plastic combination parts. This allows us to
provide greater development and production effi ciencies,
thereby reducing development time and costs.
From prototyping to fi nal production, our state-of-the-art
design engineering services provide timely answers to
diffi cult design issues. Our CAD/CAM and FEA systems
allow us to offer design alternatives quickly while our tool
development and secondary press operations are second
to none. Finally, prior to committing to production, our
prototyping services provide production quality sample
parts for fi nal testing.
Materials R&DWe have an advantage over many rubber and plastics
manufacturers because we place a great deal of emphasis
on research and development. Our technical support staff
provides the resources to design, formulate, develop and
test materials and parts.
With elastomers we are known for our bonding and over
molding capabilities on metal substrates or on high
performance plastics. We use proprietary
technologies with both chemical and
mechanical bonding to ensure
a durable fi nished part while
minimizing production costs.
Our test cell for PEEK transmission
seal rings is an example of our materials
technologies with high performance plastics.
This semi-crystalline polymer is used
to replace metal components in many
automotive and heavy vehicle
transmissions. However, until
we developed a PEEK test cell, to
document critical wear application
data, none was available to industry.
Providing Industry SolutionsAt Minnesota Rubber and Plastics our goal is to provide
OEM’s, tier one and tier two customer’s with the problem
solving solutions critical for their applications. For over 65
years our commitment and dedication to the transportation
industries has provided the needed components and assem-
blies, while meeting pricing and delivery requirements.
Whatever your elastomer and thermoplastic design challenge
we’re here to make your application a reality. By working
directly with you and exploring new design and material
technologies, you can be certain our recommendations and
commitment to your product requirements will meet your
expectations.
