A technically gastight main insulating body is achieved by the method

of manufacture. No additional sealing is required. The current conductor

is un-detachably connected to the bushing core. The fi rm connection

is necessary, because the bushing is tested for gas-tightness before it

is supplied.

A system of multiple-sealing of oil- and SF6-resistant O-ring seals is

employed between the main insulating body and the bushing fl ange

and also between body and current conductor. In the fl ange area

between the seals of oil and gas side there is an annular chamber

to collect gas which may penetrate because of possible long-term

diffusion processes. This gas is released into the atmosphere almost

pressureless without entering the transformer. A liquid sealing chamber

supports the O-ring seals at the current conductor. The bushing core

is fi xed in the fl ange.

The fl ange is made of a central part and two fl ange plates, which

are screwed to the central part and sealed by O-rings. This permits

a maximum adaptability, particularly in view of the different

SF6-substation designs.

All bushings have a test tap. When the cap is screwed in position,

the last layer of the condenser grading is earthed via the contact

spring located in the cap. The built-in, insulated bushing has a

4-mm pin onto which a corresponding, resilient socket can be

plugged for test purposes. All bushings also have two M12 earthing

holes and threaded lifting holes on the pitch circle diameter of the

transformer side fl ange plate as a standard.

Standards and customized modifi cations All bushings are designed to comply with IEC Standard 60137 and

tested accordingly. The dimensions of the SF6-side of the bushings

correspond to the data of IEC 61639 and IEC 62271-211 Bushings that

comply with IEEE Standard or other national regulations are available

on request.

The types specifi ed in this brochure represent standard versions.

Modifi cations are possible but may result in price changes or different

delivery times and must therefore be specifi cally requested. The

technical designs of these bushing types are documented in compre-

hensive delivery specifi cations.

2 | 3RIP condenser bushing type EKTG

DesignIntended for the direct connection of power transformers to

SF6-switchgear, the type EKTG has an insulating body of resin

impregnated paper (RIP). The condenser core is made of special

paper epoxy resin vacuum-impregnated paper. Conductive layers

made of aluminium foil are inserted between these paper layers

for grading the electric fi eld. Thanks to their good conductivity,

optimum voltage distribution is guaranteed even in case of

rapid voltage changes.

Screen electrodesBushings can be shielded with an electrode. The dimensions given

in the table refer to electrodes (EK1…EK4) made of insulating material,

that can be detached via a bayonet connection. They can be moved

upwards as well as downwards for the installation of the bushing.

The required distance to ground “A” in each case is contained in

the table above. Additional insulating measures or larger distances

may be necessary because of the constraints when installing in the

transformer. The bushing can also be operated with electrodes and

barrier systems not manufactured by HSP. The distance must not

be less than the “Minimum distance A” given in the above table.
