Mr Shihab Ahmed Zubair, RSM, Epson, UAEAt this edition, we have launched a few new products for the Egyptian market. The textile business in general is developing very fast and expanding in Egypt, so we entered Egypt at the right time. We have been able to build a good market share in this period. The transition from conventional to digital printing is picking up due to various reasons. So we see a very big opportunity. We met most of our key and potential customers. We will return for the next edition with a bigger stall.

Mr Sandip Panchal, Director, Rabatex Industries, India

Companies are still working with machinery which are 12-15 years old, so we feel that time has come to replace them with new technologies. Private sector investment has also taken off and they are now investing in new machinery rather than second-hand machinery. Since the government has developed a new policy for developing the industry from fibre to garments, we see a bright future.

Ms Norhan Kamal Abbas, GM, Fabtex Agencies, Egypt

We have been participating at Afro Stitch & Tex since the first edition.. Itema is doing very well in the Egyptian textile industry since it introduced the R9500. We have recently finalized a big order for supplying R9500² looms. Private sector investment is also picking up since the government is helping companies access capital. I think the next five years will be very good. Despite Corona Virus fears, we also met buyers from Kuwait, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon and other countries at this exhibition.

Mr J Prabu Venkatesh, Director, Sanmit Card Clothing, India

We have been in Egyptian market since last 10 years. The Egyptian textile industry is similar in size to that in Thailand. However, the government is now giving a lot of importance to the textile industry, so we see a good future. We will definitely return for the next edition of Afro Stitch & Tex
