speaking area……and PRACTICE ..using the microphone and all of
your VISUAL AIDS

• Greet some of the audience as they arrive. It’s much, much easier to speak to a group of
friends than to speak to a group of strangersstrangers !!!!
3) Know your material
• If you’re NOTNOT familiar with the material or are Uncomfortable with it, your nervousness will increase…..Practice and revise your presentation until YOU feel GREAT about it !!!

• Ease your tension by doing some exercise.!

• Audiences WANT you to be interesting, stimulating, informative, and entertaining. They do NOT want you to fail !!! No one likes wasting their time !!!!!
7) DON’T APOLOGIZE7) DON’T APOLOGIZE
• If you mention that you’re nervous, or apologize for problems you THINK you have with the presentation, you may be calling the attention of others to something they hadn’t noticed !!!! Keep quiet !!
8) Concentrate on the Presentation.. NOT the medium!!!
• Focus your attention AWAY from your own anxieties and outwardly towards the presentation, the message, and the audience,,, your nervousness will disappear

• This is perhaps, you know uh, like I mean the worst, um like I mean really terrible, um, uhm, well man, if like I gotta explain what uh, um, I mean, well I got to do it it but this is really man, like the worst, um, u,h think that any speaker can sort of do like I mean um it’s really like annoying OK???
ADJUST FOR THIS VIRUS
• Diagnose that you might have it…
• Pause when you say a NON word or constantly repeat words.. the gap of silence will feel scary at first but if no longer than 4 seconds no one will notice..
• Record voice messages and listen to them
• Ask a friend to work with you find the cure
• Hold you breath—same as pausing..
