At LHT, more than 16 tons of wood chips per

day are delivered to our 4.5 mega watt

cogeneration as biomass which converted into

renewable energy for its recycling plant.

The recycling plant uses these energy for

dryer, high steam and high pressure press

Cogeneration 4.5 Mega Watt

Manufacturing wood wastes like saw dusts, wood flakes, and wood chips are deliver to cogeneration silo as biomass converting to renewal energy for Recycling Plant production process of “Technical Wood”. An engineered compressed wood that substitute of wood.

Summary • The implementation of energy efficiency project of LHT

4.5 Mega Watt cogeneration collaborated with Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) was to determine on the energy saving using its own waste wood as biomass.

• The result proved greater saving and lower carbon footprint (CFP) comparable to using electricity.

• Due to short distance from recycling depot and biomass cogeneration plant, low /no carbon emission in transportation for relative short distance.

• The cogeneration also helps LHT to achieved “Zero Manufacturing Waste”.

• The renewal energy supply to LHT recycling plant produce “Technical Wood”(TW) which were made from waste wood materials.

• The TW were used for manufacturing of our innovative green pallets which are exempted from heat-treatment and fumigation and compliance to ISPM 15.
