Felician College is one of onl y 18 colleges in the world t o be granted Non- Governmental Organization(NGO) status at the United Nations. This special status gives Felician College students the uni queoppor tuni ty to become interns at the U.N. with unprecedented access to attend all U.N. conferences andmeet politicians, diplomats and ambassadors from around the world.

Reminder of St. Catherine University Priority Scholarship Deadline is March 15, 2011 . St. Catherine University provides parscholarships to f emale, bachelor's level international students in any major offered at th e university. Scholarships rangebetween $4,000 - $18,000 and are based on an applicant's academic record and f inancial need. The total cost of attendanSt. Catherine University ranges between $35,000 - $43 ,034.

With the largest scholarship, the to tal cost can be reduced to approx imately $20 ,000 . No full scholarships are available. Thpri orit y scholarship deadline for the 2011- 2012 academic year is March 15, 2011. Stud ents can complete the online

FELLOWSHIPS AND ASSISTANTSHIPS AT UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA AMERICAN STUDIES PROGRAM

Graduate Fellowships and Teaching Assistantships are available t o support graduate in ternationalstudents at th e University of South Florid a American Stud ies Progr am. All students accepted willreceive positi ons as teaching assistants, if they wish, p rovided t hat t hey have minim um TOEFLscores of: Reading : 20; Writ ing: 2 4; Listening: 20 ; Speaking: 24 .

Teaching assistantship s include a tuit ion waiver and a stipend. This stipend i s $3300 per semesterin t he first year and $5800 per semester in the second year, and there are th ree teaching semestersper year. In addition, t he appli cant enteri ng in t he fall of 2012 who scores highest on t he GRE willreceive a one- year, $10 ,000 f ellowship. However, please note that the tuition waiver does not in clude the waiver of studenfees, which amount to approximately $3000 per year; and the cost of living in Tampa is estimated at $14,000 per year.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE AT UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE SCHOOL OF LAW

The University of Baltimo re School o f Law off ers a Master of Laws program i n t he Law of the UnitedStates (LL.M. LOTUS). This nine- month degree program is designed for law graduates who earned theirfir st degree in law outside the U.S. and seek t o become familiar wi th Am erican law and the legal

system. Students educated in Brazil, Cameroon  , China, Kenya, India, Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania,Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Venezuela are currently enrolled. The School of Law provides arobust week- long or ientation, excellent education wit h academic suppor t services, and connectionwith its large alum ni network in t he Baltimor e/ Washing ton, D.C. area.

Each year, the School o f Law of fers parti al scholarships to a small number of LL.M. students who have demonstratedoutstanding academic achievement. In 2010 - 2011, five of our 19 new student s have been awarded part ial scholarships. TSchool of Law is now accepti ng appli cation s for admi ssion to t he 2011 - 12 LL.M. LOTUS prog ram. Appli cants who seek a mscholarship indicate that fact on t heir application and feature their academic and prof essional achievements in their statemof purpose and resume. The School of Law welcomes Fulbr ight and Muskie Fellows.

A unique insti tut ion at t he School of Law, the Center on Ap plied Femi nism  connects with the Center for Internation al anComp arative Law  at which the LL.M. progr am is based. International law students in our LL.M. program engage in di alogueabout in ternational and hum an right s issues relating to gender around the world. We have held a series of videoconferenceon famil y law with a sister school in India.

DEPAUL GOES TEST-OPTIONAL ON ADMISSIONS

DePaul University has dropped a requirement that all undergraduate appli cants subm it eitherSAT or ACT scores - and the uni versity says that it is the largest pri vate instit uti on to have made such a shift . The universitcited the posit ive experiences of many colleges and un iversities that have drop ped testing requirement s, the correlationbetween test scores and family income and other f actors. Appl icants who opt not to submit test scores will be asked tocomplete som e short response essays.

FLORIDA STATE COLLEGE OFFERS CONDITIONAL ADMISSIONS FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

The Admissions Offi ce at Florida State College has given approval for theEnglish Language Institute to grant conditional admission to internationalstudents. Conditional admission is a combination program that  accommodates international students who need English l anguage proficiencyin order to be admi tt ed to the College. Condit ionally admitt ed students are required to successful ly complete the EnglishLanguage Institut e program prio r t o taking college- level courses.

Students who are condit ionally admitt ed must m eet all of t he regular College admission requirements except Englishprof iciency. The Engli sh Language Institut e provides int ensive, high - quality i nstruction t o non - native English speakers.
