Initiative
▪ Design:
▪ $250,000 matching grant fund▪ Grantees must launch or expand Dreamer scholarships▪ Grantees must secure and commit equal amount ▪ Scholarships payable beginning in 2015 ▪ Students must attend public or private non-profit
institutions
▪ Goals:
▪ Increase total pool of funds▪ Incentivize providers to expand commitment▪ Leverage financial support from other sources▪ Enlarge the community of allies and advocates
Invest in the Dream
▪ Outcomes:
▪ 54 proposals from 20 states ▪ Diverse applicant pool, over $1.6 million in requests ▪ 9 grantees selected – equally diverse mix▪ 2 grantees are supporting Dreamers for the first time▪ 3 grantees limit eligibility to DACA students
▪ Next Steps:
▪ Grantees will award scholarships in 2015▪ E4FC will assess outcomes▪ Support learning and knowledge sharing by grantees▪ Decide by early 2015 about renewing the program
next year
