• Bells and whistles may be distracting
• Special effects have purpose
Proofread
• Spell check
• Time presentation
• Always have backup!!
Rules- Text
• Capital letter after bullets
• Bullets have 8 words or less
• Font style simple
• No complete sentences
• No punctuation marks
• No ALL CAPS
• No more than 7 lines

• No more than 2 levels of bullets
• Use word art sparingly
• Less is more

• Avoid animation effects on graphics from Internet
Background Sounds
• Only instrumental
• Movie, cartoon or TV songs
• Play through out presentation or group of more than 2 slides
Tips for Presentations
• Allow one minute per slide• Don’t read the slides• Using Charts and graphs- highlight
the bottom line• Dim the lights if necessary• Maintain eye contact with audience• Read left to right, top to bottom
