    T he UK government defended its decision to introduce an interimlimit on skilled workers from India and other countries outside theEuropean Union, despite concerns raised.

    T he government has placed a temporary limit of 24,100 until April2011, when a permanent annual limit will be announced. T he caphas already adversely affected companies who are unable to recruitthe skills required from India and elsewhere.

    T he interim limit was introduced to stop a rush of last minuteapplications ahead of the annual limit being introduced in Aprilnext year and the Border Agency has been working very closelywith businesses to ensure that these arrangements have been

    implemented effectively.

    Customers can finally buy Tata Nano directly fromshowrooms in select states as Tata Motors movesto end booking system for the worlds cheapest car.

    Tata Motors started open sales of the Rs.1-lakh carin Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh andKarnataka on Tuesday, making it possible forpeople to purchase the car directly from dealers

    instead of booking it.Customers in these states that have not booked aNano so far can now purchase the Nano directlyfrom showrooms, the company said in a statement.

    Japan's Sony Corp will outsource someproduction of image sensors used in digitalcameras and mobile phones to Fujitsu Ltd tocut costs and cope with tough globalcompetition.T he deal with F ujitsu will complement Sony's ownefforts to ramp up output.
