Introduction to the Basic Army List Format
This section will present the data format for the various charts and Army Lists. I haveincluded a Generic List of troop types which are common to most armies. By
consolidating them in this section, the data is not repeated in every national Army List.

9. Infantry Company reflects the -asic company in organi2ation and strength common to
most nations.
3. )lite Co. This includes units that are special trained and often have 'Gs in the organic
To). It includes G- Commandos, # Rangers, #'C 'arine Raiders, Russian #'GCos, German @affen ##,
4. #ecurity Companies reflect the composite platoons +not numerous enough to comprise
an entire company si2ed unit used to protect /s and Artillery units. They are often ami1 of AT guns, 'Gs, mortars, rifles, #'Gs and AT rifles.
5. Reduced Companies are used to represent poorly trained or motivated infantry
companies, depleted strength companies and other less effective infantry units.<. /eavy #pt Company or /eavy @eapons Company represent the unit used to support
the -asic unit. It may consist of 'Gs only or mortars only, AT +short 6-a2oo0as, "iats, etc.
or 4=mm guns guns, or a com-ination of any of the weapons.:. )ngineer Companies are rated as -asic Infantry Companies -ut they receive positive
modifiers when attac0ing vehicle or -un0er comple1 units.=. / units represent the staff of a -attalion or higher unit. It has only T@( step
reduction loss level so only two men should -e used on the -ase. A tent or staff6commandvehicle can -e used to help I the unit. A #ecurity unit may -e authori2ed for the unit and
is deployed adacent to the -ase.

one is present, it will have only a T@( step reduction loss level.
D. Cycle Cos. These are units used for scouting. #ome will -e euipped with motorcyclesand other with -icycles. They were often small units -ut with high organic 'G ratios.
Any com-ination of cycles w6riders and foot can -e used to represent its &" value.
9?. Cavalry units can -e used for scouting or impact troops. They are not the horse drawnunits used for transport. The horse and rider will count as one &".99. A player may adust the ratings of specific units depending of the nationality -eing
formed or the scenario used. &or e1ampleE a #'C player may wise to upgrade a num-er
of infantry companies from -asic to )lite to represent veterans. Another e1ample! After9D54 many Russian Rifle companies were reduced strength due to casualties.
93. Alpine, 'ountain , Commando, Ranger, Chindit and 'arauder trained units will treat
all terrain as clear terrain.

9. AA Batteries are primarily used to attac0 aircraft -ut can attac0 enemy ground units if
attac0ed. Certain units can initiate attac0s against enemy ground units without -eing
attac0ed. These include multiple 'G AA units, German 88mm AA6AT units and othermulti*purpose units. The ratings are for a unit of several guns and6or systems including
single and multi*-arrel systems. Towed Guns can only -e moved -y transports. 88mm
and 4 cannot -e moved -y Light Truc0s. #ome guns may -e mounted on truc0s or /Ts
and will move at their speed -ut cannot move and fire in the same turn. Range for AA isfor ground targets. Air targets are -ased on the rules. &"s are also for ground targets.
#ingle -arrel &" are vs vehicles.. &"3 vs Infantry and &"4 vs other guns.
3. AT Batteries represent medium to long range weapons used to counter the threat presented -y enemy vehicle units. They are identified -y si2e type. Because national gun
types regardless of -eing of the same si2e will vary in range and effectiveness they are
listed under their specific nationality Army List. @hen attac0ing a vehicle unit, their &" isdou-led.. #p*AT which are (pen Top units have a Thin A if attac0ed -y aircraft or
artillery. Towed Guns can only -e moved -y transports. 88mm and 4 cannot -e moved
-y Light Truc0s.

There are enough transport items in the unit to transport a com-at unit and its euipment.
The speed is not -ased on a '"/ -ut the amount of relative time needed to transport theunit. It does not reflect organic com-at assets such as Armored Cars or weapons
/alftrac0s. Amphi-ious carriers, Light halftrac0s and halftrac0s will J9 &" to the
transported unitEs &". The transport +/T for e1ample can remain with the deployed Infunit and add its &" to it -ut not itEs A rating. It will -e -ased adacent to the rear of the
unit it is supporting. Transported Arty, AT and AA units cannot fight until deployed..
Bicycle units move at /orse drawn speed. #0i units in snow terrain move at /orse drawnspeed.
