Echuca College News
Macbeth.com is coming
Next week is the big week for our
students in the Production.
They have been working for 9 months to
prepare for the three public
performances at the Paramount next
week. If you haven’t considered going
along to have a look, it’s time to get
interested.
The show is amazingly creative and
demonstrates the enormous talent and
commitment that students at Echuca
College possess. Come along and see
them sing and dance and act, see them
on film and see them live on stage.
See a side of them you’ve never seen
before!
Performances are at the Paramount on Wed 27th Aug., Thurs 28th and Fri. 29th. Tickets
are available from the Paramount now but there is some chance they will run out.

Macbeth.com Opening Night Wednesday 27th August
It was great to see so many students dressed up today to support our
production macbeth.com. We had witches, wizards, knights, ghosts and lots
of princesses. Opening night is Wednesday the 27th of August, it will also
show on the 28th and 29th of August. Tickets are available from the
Paramount now. We are very excited to see all the hard work come to
fruition.
Mock Interviews 2014
Our Year 10 students participated in Mock Interviews this week. Employers
generously donated their time to give our students the opportunity to
experience a real interview. Students prepared their letters of application
and resume in Beacon classes prior to the interview. Students will receive
feedback on their applications and their interviews. This is a valuable
learning experience for students and we truly appreciate the time and
support the given by the businesses involved. We would like to thank the

Careers Pathway information Day for Indigenous Secondary Students
The day was organised to introduce the students to La Trobe University
Bendigo Campus. Providing an understanding on how the University
Community operates through an interactive activity “Race Around La
Trobe”. Students participated in a variety of interactive workshops from
Faculties and Schools. Career Chats with La Trobe Indigenous and Non-
Indigenous Students. Future Students session on University offerings
providing students with an understanding of career choices and how to
enroll into University.
There was time at the end of the day to be organised into student school groups to help assist students in filling out
their Career Action Plans for MIPS and a debriefing about the day.
We went to the La Trobe Indigenous Experience Day, we started with a race around the Uni and then we broke into
workshops that interested us, I went to graphic art. We then had pizza for lunch in the residents restaurant. We got to
see the whole facilities and it’s fair to say, I will definitely be attending university! Loki Duus.
One and All Deb Training
The first One and All Deb training was held last night and the Echuca College
students participating in this event were amazing!
Students were asked to indicate an interest in participating in the deb, to fill
a number of roles. The interest from students was overwhelming and a
select number of students have been chosen to partner clients from Murray
Human Services. Students are also required to act as "Ninjas" and provide
additional support and be back up dancers for any absentees.
The connections the students have already made are truly inspirational and
we are very proud of all students participating in the deb ball.
The deb set has already learned their first dance and have had lots of giggles in doing so. We had several partners
absent due to snow camp, but our ninjas (support crew/back up dancers) stepped in with ease. A special mention to
Page 4 of 6
Jason Hanson who stepped in to partner Kara – a non-verbal client of MHS – Kara had a blast and literally squealed with
disappointment when the evening finished!
Trainings are on Wednesday evenings 7.30-9pm at the Murray Human Services Hall on High St South. We look forward
to the big event on October the 17th.
Handmade Quilt Raffle
A magnificent hand crafted quilt has been donated to the Echuca College Production by Mrs Robyn O'Sullivan. The quilt is on display in the front office. Echuca College is grateful for the ongoing support of the community as our production nears opening night.
