    BAT members shared their experience and expertise at the November meeting. Yaakov Bar Am used various tools to hollow forms. Ernie Grimm covered pen turning. Wayne Kuhn gave a seminar on bowl turning. Louie Harris demystified spindle turning. Lou Rudinski rounded out the session by teaching sharpening techniques. These experienced turners shared their tips and techniques and coached participants in trying their hand. A good time was had by all.

    Pen Turning for the TroopsOn November 11-13, 2011, Woodcraft hosted Pen Turning for the Troops. Woodcraft provided lathes, pen kits, and tools for anyone to turn a pen to be do-nated to US service men and women. BAT members were on hand to turn, demonstrate, and coach new turners. Here are some pictures from a small por-tion of the event. Many BAT members besides those pictured here took part in the event. Thanks for your participation.

    BAT works on display

    On November 19 and 20, 2011 Mark Supik hosted the How Many Bowls? project exhibition.

    Several BAT members were among the 37 turners who turned the 99 bowls on display. Mark turned bowl #100 before a standing-room-only crowd.

    Here are some pix of the many and varied styles of these white pine bowls.

    Holiday Party

    The December meeting with be our Holiday Party.

    •Food and drinks are provided by BAT.

    •There will be a door prize and several con-tests.

    •There will also be a voluntary gift exchange. Bring a wrapped turned gift if you would like to participate.

    A box of scraps ranging from Osage to Poison Ivy, two Cherry crotches, Dogwood, Hickory and Cedar logs, Holly, Chesnut Oak, Osage, and Mahogany spindle blanks, S & S Hard Rock Maple, a Cuban Mahogany Log donated by visitor Lou Berson and

    more were in the October BAT Raffle.Thanks to all donors.
