State Budget Update – October 28, 2010

6.3% across-the-board cuts to line items in the state

budget funded by state general fund dollars.

The total proposed cut to ECEAP is $923,000 or 1.7%.

DEL is looking for a way to replace all or part of this.

Final report with plan due to Quality Education Council and Early Learning Advisory Council, Nov. 1, 2011.

The plan must examine opportunities and barriers to at least TWO options:

Under the program of basic education; and

As an entitlement executed by statute or constitutional amendment.
