Extrusion coating for corrugated
Extrusion coating is an industrial
process to produce a melt of
thermoplastic polymer material.
This melt is transformed into a
functional coating on Test- or kraftliner
For the corrugating industry, we
combine two substrates together with
any type of paper or film on top

5 good reasons to use barrier liners
Solve your customers problems
Replace other packaging raw materials
Simplify your customers process
Reduce impact on the environment

1. Solve your customers problems
Barrier liners protects the goods from moisture damages
TRANSPORT STORAGE MOISTURE
Page 8 Corrugated Case Materials Corrugated Case Materials
PE Laminates for strength and protection
When corrugated board is exposed to humidity,
the moisture can easily penetrate and migrate
into the corrugated board sheet. This can
cause a reduction in stiffness (SCT), resulting
in lower total strength of the board sheet (ECT)
and reduce the compression strength of the
box (BCT).
Our Barrier liners ensure the box keeps its
mechanical strength properties, and means
paper substrate weight and quality can possibly
be downgraded.

Technical Advises
Barrier liner on one side
Temperatures of 180-200 C
Normal starch glues with a 25-30% content
Machine speed of 200-220 m/min
No hard nip pressure to be used between the press roller and the
corrugating roller
Avoid having rough wash board surfaceon the corrugated board
Increase web tension and break power in case of web sliding problems occurs
Reduced temperature to 160-180 C
Increased glue content to 30-35 % reduce the glue substance to
approx.10 -12 g/m2
Machine speed (at least in the beginning) of 120-140 m/min.
Low nip pressure between the press roller and the corrugating roller
