    Summary:

Son and father on their bikes Ernesto Colnago. After more

than thirty years another Thurau ride on the prestigious

Italian bikes. Cycling in the meantime has changed, but

the quality of the Colnago is always the same.

Thurau is breaking away. All true, it was not a dj vu, what we saw in the third stage of the Tirreno -Adriatico

2014. Departure from Cascina arrival in Arezzo, total 204 km. With the jersey of Europcar was Bjorn Thurau.

Last name at attention cycling enthusiasts with gray hair . Bjorn is the son of Dietrich , called Didi , champion

of the 70s and 80s . Winner of a Liege in 1979, and many other races including six stages of the Tour de

France, and a silver medal at the back of our Moser world champion in San Cristobal, in 1977. And a stage of

the Giro of twenty-six years ago, a time trial from Larciano to Pistoia, which beat the italian rival just for seven

    seconds.

Almost the same roads on which Bjorn is put on display. Same figure, both tall and thin. The son rouleur able to

give the best racing in line, dad a diesel with the turbo , ultra-strong with the knockout blow, also cultivated

on the rings in the wood of the six days.

Bjorn is now 25 years old (1988 class) and cycling in the meantime has changed a lot. He has not yet won,

his dream is to take a great Classic.

With dad Dietrich shares the Colnagos bike. He with a C59 carbon fiber, the father with a Victory in steel, red

with white fascia of the team Del Tongo. Was a 1983 season, together with him a certain Giuseppe Saronni

that in that season burns all at the finish in San Remo. Bjorn grew up with the myth of Colnago, he began to

pull the first shots of the pedals riding a Master. It was precisely Ernesto Colnago to want him to Europcar.

At what age did you start riding ?

I was very young, I think around ten years. I loved cyclism, I love the

    competition.

Obviously, due to the fact that dad was a professional cyclist, it was much

easier for me to start by cycling rather than play other sports. But it was a

natural decision, dad was never forced to me. I like cycling.

What do you remember about this photo?

I was about twelve years old, I think it was a criterium. In Germany there are a

lot of races for kids. A few kilometers at full speed. I won that race, with almost

a lap ahead of the peloton.

At what age did you realize you could become a professional cyclist?

At fifteen or sixteen I had quite clear ideas. I felt that the bike wouldbe my future.

What advice gave to you your dad?

My father helped me a lot in the early part of my career. He told me how to

train, how to eat , how to manage life as a professional cyclist .

At the beginning you can make plenty of mistakes, its recommendations were

useful not to burn the stages and mature gradually. It gave me great tips for

finding the right position on the bike also.

Difficult to make comparisons with the cycling of thirty years ago.

In what ways has changed the cycling?

The level of performance has remained more or less than this, but today

there is much more competition. Professional riders today can train better,

teams are more organized, I think it is more difficult to reach the top.

What type of cyclist are you?

I like the wavy paths, hilly course, on which I can rely take advantage from

my skills as a long-distance rider and decent climber. When Im in shape I get

very well even on long climbs. My specialty is to get into the break away and

eventually try to get alone. Sure, its very difficult, but Im not so fast and it is

best to avoid the sprint finishes.

Which race would you like to win?

Based on my physical and athletic characteristics I would say a great one

    day classic.

I really like the Paris -Roubaix. Its a race very difficult and stressful. You love

It or hate It, there is no middle way. Last year I made it for the first time ( he

finished 48th) and Im loving it. I think it is very suited to my qualities.

What do you like about the Colnago bicycles?

I believe that Ernesto Colnago is a true ar tist of the bike. I am very tall (he is

193 cm) and it is not at all easy to get me on the saddle. He always satisfied

each and every time my little request, has been able to create frames perfectly

    suited to the physical shares.

About my bike I have always appreciated the ability to combine comfort with the

    superb competitive quality.

point of view is characterized by oversized tubes and lugs compared to the previous C59, both with design

star, the same as the Master, steel frame that has made the history of Colnago, still in production. A summary

of the features: steering of 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 headset Chs-1 headset, internal cable routing, compatible with
