Neal Family Vineyards - Napa

In 2001, Mark Neal built his family winery on a property just outside of Angwin in the Howell Mountain AVA in Napa. From the start he wanted Neal Family wines to showcase the quality of his organic farming practices and the unique attributes of the vineyards he farms. Current production is approximately 6,000 cases annually. Neal Family bottles a Rutherford Dust Vineyard Zinfandel, Rutherford Dust Vineyard Petite Syrah, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and a Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. In addition, a few vineyard designated Cabernet Sauvignon are bottled as chosen by Mark and his winemakers from the top ranked individual barrels from a selected vineyard like the Howell Mountain Estate or Rutherford Dust Vineyard.

Brotherhood Winery

In 1810, a French Huguenot emigre named Jean Jaques purchased land in New York’s bucolic Hudson Valley and began planting grapes. By 1837, Mr. Jaques needed more land, so he purchased a plot in the quiet village of Washingtonville, NY, and planted another vineyard. By 1839, his first underground cellars were dug and Mr. Jaques fermented his first wine vintage. Those cellars, the oldest and largest in America, are still in use today at Brotherhood Winery.

The Ojai Vineyard – Santa Barbara County

Adam Tolmach started The Ojai Vineyard in 1983, one year after he and Jim Clendenan started Au

Bon Climat. He has since parted ways with Jim in the early 90s to focus solely on The Ojai Vineyard.

Adam and his assistant Fabien Castel work closely with a dozen different cool climate vineyards on

the Central Coast of California. Adam makes some of the most soundly crafted and interesting wines

in the state. He has a lot of respect for the subtlety and nuance in wine but also recognizes that he is

making wines in California, not France. At the Ojai Vineyard, they use only steam and boiling water in

the winery to sanitize everything rather that chemicals. Adam is also an advocate of minimal new

oak use and natural ferments when possible. He has been making wine now for over 30 years and is

still open to growing and learning more about his craft.

Poppy – California

Poppy, located in Monterey Wine Country, was founded by the Silva Family who have spent over 45 years diligently tending to the land of the beautiful Salinas Valley. In 2003, the Silva family decided to channel their passions into a carefully crafted family wine–Poppy. Founded on the principles of developing consistently elegant and approachable wines, a glass of Poppy is the quintessential California wine experience. By controlling grapes sourcing and operating a state-of-the-art facility, Poppy combines age-old winemaking traditions with new world techniques that make the California wine industry one of the best. When deciding on a name, the Silva’s wanted something that spoke to the great state of California where their family had settled so many years ago. One day, while looking at wild poppies growing amongst the vines, the name was born. Celebrating the state of California and its golden blooming flowers, Poppy is a proud symbol for our great state and this great wine.

Little Winery. Big Hart.

White Hart was founded in 2008 on the central coast of California. This wine company produces two wines from these AVAs; Chardonnay from Arroyo Seco and Pinot Noir from Santa Lucia Highlands.

'Hart' is old English for 'Stag' (cognate with the Dutch 'Hert'). While his brown companions blend easily into the landscape, the White Hart stands out bright and bold. For the precious moments he is still, he seems to have stepped out of a stranger, more mysterious world.

The wines express a signature style from this Salinas valley created from sustainably grown grapes from a single vineyard with minimal interference, with the help of a star local winemaker.

White Hart Wine is owned by Marcel van Stuijvenberg. With over 30 years of experience in the wine business, Marcel says that this Little Winery with a Big Hart is destined for growth with the support of professionals and guests alike.

Hoopes Family Vineyards

Hoopes Family Vineyards is a family owned vineyard and winery dedicated to producing cabernet Sauvignon. We love wine and we love farming. Our goal is to capture the truest expression of the Oakville terroir in which our grapes are grown.

Our wines are classic Cabs that capture the relationship between grape-grower and winemaker and constitute and expression of old-world-farming and taste profiles marrying with the new-world fruit flavors and ripeness. Our philosophy is simple. We minimize after-harvest manipulation of the grape so that you can enjoy the most important ingredients – the grape and the terroir – in their truest form. The result is our wine; elegant and feminine, yet bold. The result is notably distinguishable from the region’s many other great wines due to the unique site, clone and age of the vines.

Spencer Hoopes, first generation proprietor, planted the ten-acre vineyard in 1983 and has been farming the land ever since. Year after year the vineyard produces the highest quality grapes with bright fruit flavors and a dense flavor core. Now Spencer works alongside his daughter, Lindsay Hoopes, to continue the legacy of Hoopes Family Wines. Although the wines bear a new face, Lindsay maintains reverence for the land, farming and family heritage in the wine that she produces.

Brian Benson Cellars is focused on making intense, unique, and extremely high quality custom wines. Being run exclusively by owner/winemaker, Brian Benson, Brian Benson Cellars is truly a one-man army. Having got into the business hanging out in his grandparent’s vineyard and later his father’s winery, Brian started to learn about the winemaking process and business before he was out of elementary school. Starting in 1995, when Brian’s father Norm Benson bought 10 acres in Westside Paso Robles, Brian worked part time on the weekends learning the ins and outs of the business and in 1997, at the ripe age of twelve, made his first wine, a Cabernet.

In October of 2000 Brian became the full time assistant winemaker for his father at Dark Star Cellars. Being that it was just Brian and his father working at the winery, Brian got a crash course in all the aspects of the wine business. In 2001, at age 19, Brian decided he wanted to start making his own wines. Starting with a little less than $2000, Brian worked deals with local Paso Robles growers and made his first commercial vintage, a Cabernet and a Zinfandel, totaling 147 Cases.

In 2005, out growing the available production space at Dark Star, Brian moved his operation to the Denner Vineyards, a new state-of-the-art gravity winery. In addition to expanding his Rhone varietals of wines, Brian, a huge custom car and hot rod addict since a kid decided he needed a shop truck. A chopped and channeled ’35 Ford was the only answer. Brian contacted famous designer Jimmy Smith to design and render the shop truck. Brian found a shop that agreed to get the project rolling and teach Brian how to chop and channel the truck. When this was all coming together Brian met world famous pin striper Doug Dorr and they decided to collaborate on a limited production run of custom pinstriped bottles to go along with the shop truck. The Brian Benson Cellars Kustom Series of wines was born. Starting with the ’35, Brian will build a custom car or hot rod every year and create a special custom blended wine and bottle to match the design of the vehicle. Being able to combine his two passions, winemaking and building custom cars is a dream come true for Brian.
