Why consider it• People are becoming a bit to dependent on food

being provided and think it is healthy. But you don’t know where it comes from what is done to it on the in-between growth place to stores.

• Store food is treated with harmful preservatives to keep them fresh but is the cost of convenience worth the long term cost of your health? Or do you even care what your contains?

• I just want to throw and alternative out there and show you is not difficult to grow at least a small amount of independence.

Materials and instructions• This is for a 4’x8’x8’’ box• I like weather treated wood or Juniper wood for

longevity• Get a 4’’ by 4’’ and cut 6’’ or 8’’ corner post• Three 2’’ by 6’’ boards that are 8’ long • Place a cloth barrier to keep out varmints tack in

place• Place a weed cloth down to keep weeds and grass

growing up through the box.

Materials and Instructions • It’s a box so not to hard to construct. • Screw the 2’’ by 6’’ boards to the 4’’by 4’’ post• After being connected put the cloth barriers on

the bottom and staple or tack them to the board• Fill with a mix of soils for nutrients like top soil, a

sandy mix and for me I add dyno-green for nutrients

• Get string and make one foot spacing and string them across so you can get a good sense of spacing for plants

in bent into an n-shape and set up a net to help viney plants grow

• Plant choice is up to you on what you’d like to have around.

• You can purchase starters which have grown and you just transplant, or you can start from seed.

• To start from seed there are many ways to do it.

• You can germinate them early and have them growing in the window seals or just put them in the soil and wait to see if it will grow.

• You know what is being done to the vegetable and how it was handled

• You have the option of not growing them in chemicals (i.e. “miracle grow”)

• They are coated with a waxy substance so they stay “fresh,” but holds bacteria on the skin.

• They are picked prematurely, which leads to a lack of nutrients and flavor

They help with space management by being above ground. You can make them small or large depending on space available. Ease the preparation process for the seasons to come. It brings in workability to even harsh areas.
