Peg Pennell Workshop—Colorado Columbine Sunday September 16, 2018

1-4 pm $30

Easy foundation piecing creates this striking “Log Cabin” flower. Learn a method that makes it simple! Setting techniques will also be discussed for making a larger pro-ject. You don’t have to be experienced in foundation piecing to make this pretty quilt. Looks great in hand dyed solids or in prints! Please see Pam Nelson to sign up for this workshop.

President’s Note

Quilt Labels

We would like all donation quilts to have a label stating "Donated by Eastern Polk Quilters Guild 2018". We will have some labels made up and available to pick up at the guild meetings to be added to your donation quilts. If you wish to make your own labels that would be fine also.

This is a picture of one of the quilt labels that are availa-ble. They are done in black, blue, and brown thread, so you can choose the color that suits your quilts the best. Take one, two, or all three colors! For each twin quilt donated, your name will be entered twice into the year end drawing.

Members At Large

Our charities this year are Taylor house (twin size), Bright Kavanaugh house (long twin size), Veterans home, and Broadlawns Hospital for baby quilts As always, we are looking forward to seeing your donations. Please sew, sew, sew!

Donation Quilts

If you are wanting a donation quilt top kit, please contact Marsha Horner at 515.979.7218. She has new kits available. All of the fabric for the top is included in the kit, as well as a pattern. It’s a great way to be able to contribute to donation quilts if you don’t have a lot of fabric yourself or have a hard time choosing colors or patterns. Please take advantage of these kits in order to help our charities.
