How Use the Android Passport App

1. To start the app, click on the My Passport icon (circled in red).

2. To view information about the app, click the circled “I” in the upper right corner.

3. View the information. Click “About” in the upper left to return to the home page.

4. Click on the 3 squares in the upper right to send a support email, and then click “Send Us Updates.”

5. Select one of the three choices, or click Cancel. In the example, click “Cancellation Locations”.

6. Select which email you will be using. In the example, click “Email”.

7. Enter in the email text, and then click the Send button in the upper right.

8. Below is the entire home page. Click on “Find by Name”.

9. The upper left corner shows “Find By Name”. Click on the second item, Acadia NP.

10. Click on the star in the upper right to make this a site you want to visit (a “favorite”).

11. See the Favorites star is now in white. Now click on the “Cancellation Locations” to see a map.

12. Click on one of the pins to see the details.

13. Click on OK to return to the map.

14. Click on “Cancellation Locations” in the upper left to return to the park details.

15. Click on “Official Park Website” to view the NPS.GOV webpage for this park. The links below, “Junior Ranger”, “Entrance Fee”, “Directions”, “Events”, and “Operating Hours” take you to those specific web pages on the NPS.GOV website for this particular park.

16. View any place on the NPS.GOV website that you wish. When you want to return to the app, click on the “back” button in the lower left corner.

17. Once back on the Park Details display, clickon “Park Detail” in the upper left to return to the list of parks by

name.

18. Click on “Find By Name” in the upper left to return to the main display.

19. Click on “Find By Region” to see a list of park regions (according to the Eastern National Passport book).

20. On the list of NPS regions, click on “Mid-Atlantic” to see a list of Mid Atlantic parks by State.

21. Click on the second item, “Assateague Island National Seashore”.

22. Click on the “+” in the upper right corner to add a visit that you made to this park.

23. Enter the data for your visit. Then click the Save icon in the upper right (clicking X cancels the visit).

24. Click on the visit in order to add photos of your visit. You may have as many visits to a single park as you wish, and you may add as many photos to each visit as you wish.

25. Click on the “+” sign to add a photo that is already in your phone (under “Gallery”). Once there, navigate through the gallery on your phone and select a picture.

26. The photo is shown in the list. Click on the photo to view a larger picture and to enter a caption for the photo.

27. Click on the pencil in the upper right corner to enter a caption for this photo.

28. Enter a caption and click “Save”.

29. See the caption at the bottom in the center. Click on the Share icon to email this photo and caption to a friend.

30. Select Email for the method of sharing.

31. Select a contact, enter a message, and then click Attach to attach the photo. When done click on the Send icon in the upper right.

32. You will see “Sending Message” at the bottom of the photo display.

33. Click on “My Visit Photos” in the upper left to return to a list of photos for this visit.

34. Click on “Visit Detail” in the upper left to return to a list of visits.

35. Click on “My Visits” in the upper left to return to the Park Detail.

36. Click on “Park Detail” to return to a list of parks.

37. Click on “Find By Region” in the upper left to return to the main page.

38. Click on “Find By State” to view a list of parks sorted by State name, and then by park name.

39. Click on Georgia (by the way, the list of states scrolls).

40. Click on Martin Luther King, Jr.

41. Click on “Park Detail” in the upper left to return to the list of parks in Georgia.

42. Click on “Find By State” in the upper left to return to the main page.

43. Click on “Parks to Visit” to see a list of parks you marked by clicking on the star.

44. Click on “Parks To Visit” to return to the main display. You may also click on a park and go through other options listed above, such as adding visits and adding photos and view NPS.GOV web pages.

45. Click on “Parks Visited” to see a list of parks to which you added visits and/or photos.

46. Click on the “Map” to see a map of all the parks you visited.

47. See the pins of the places you visited. Click on the “Parks Visited” to return to the main home page.

48. Click on “Nearby (GPS)” to see a list of parks that you are close by (50 miles).

49. Again, you may click on Map, click on a Park to see details about a park, or click “Parks Nearby” in the upper left to return to the main home page. This is the end of the instructions. Hope you enjoyed your walk through the app!
