BLESSING THE HOME DURING THE EASTER SEASON

Standing at the door all make the Sign of the Cross.

Luke 24:28-32 is read.

O God, make the door of this house wide enough to receive all

who need human love and fellowship, narrow enough to shout out

all envy and pride and strife. Make its threshold smooth enough

to be no stumbling-block to children, nor to straying feet, but

rugged and strong enough to turn back the tempter’s power. God,

make the door of this house the gateway to your eternal kingdom.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. AMEN.

Newly blessed water is sprinkled on every member and

in every room.

Lord, we rejoice in the victory of your Son over death: by rising

from the tomb to new life he gives us new hope and promise.

Bless all the members of this household and surround them with

your protection, that they may find comfort and peace in Jesus

Christ, the paschal lamb, who lives and reigns with you and the

Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

Praise the Lord for: our musicians: organist, choir members, cantors; church cleaners,

“apostles,” ministers of Communion, lectors, ushers, firemakers;

serves, who carried the cross, the Easter candle (and Lupita and

Ben Villa who decorated it), the incense, the Holy Oils; a special

“Thank You” to the newly baptized—Eli Perales,

Nayeli Perales, and James Regalado—for sharing their faith

with us, and welcome. Thank you to all who did whatever you

did to make the three Easter Days an experience of reverence and

faith.

Oh Dios, haz que esta puerta sea suficientemente ancha para

recibir todo necesitando amor humano y fraternidad,

suficientemente angosta para no permitir la entrada de la envidia,

el orgullo, ni el conflicto. Haz que su entrada sea suave para que

los niños no atropiezen, no los pies errantes, suficientemente tosca

y fuerte para resistir el poder del tentador. Dios, haz que la puerta

de esta casa sea un portal hacia tu reino eterno. Te los pedimos

por Jesucristo, nuestro Señor. AMÉN.

Se rocia los miembros de la familia y cada cuarto de la casa.

Señor, regocijamos en la victoria de tu Hijo sobre la muerte. Por
