Congratulations
Congratulations to Max Mastrototaro (10th grader) who was welcomed into the Catholic
Church at this year’s Easter Vigil through the Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism,
Eucharist and Confirmation. He was joined by his brother Luc (6th grader) who received
the Sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist! At a later date, Luc will receive Confirmation
with his classmates from St. Mel’s Academy. Kudos to those who completed their
initiation into the Catholic Church through the reception of the Sacraments of the
Eucharist and/or Confirmation: Jenna Moreno (12 grader) and Andres Plasencia (9th
grader); Adults – Sergio Badalamenti, Massimo Badalamenti, Francesco Gallina, Kelly
Giardina, Bradley Gonzalez, Erin Hennessy, Pietro Ilardi, and Rosa Congliaro. May the
light of Christ shine in their hearts as fully initiated members of the Catholic faith.
St. Mel Rosary Altar Society Alleluia! Alleluia! He has risen as he said. Blessings
to all who celebrated our glorious Easter holiday!
We had a fantastic turn out for our March meeting.
Sr. Ave Maria Clarke from Heart to Heart Ministry
was our guest. She lead a beautiful prayerful
meditation and shared many stories from the work that
she does with special needs and battered women. She
is always uplifting and we are grateful that she has
time to visit us here at St. Mel’s. You may contact Sr.
Ave Clark at:
Heart to Heart Ministry
209-34 45th Drive
Bayside, New York 11361
Donations are always welcome as are volunteer work.
Please contact her directly if you can help her ministry
in any way.
Our upcoming meeting will be conducted on
Monday, May 8. This is the SECOND MONDAY of
the month instead of our traditional first Monday. We
will be hosting a “Baby Shower” for Bridge to Life.
We host this baby shower each year in support of
unwed mothers and their babies. You do not have to
come to the meeting to donate a gift. You can drop it
off at the rector as well. It is truly a memorable
evening. Please join us.
Thank you for your continued support.
Ann, Cathy, Maria, Lisa, & Joyce

B) The preparation of validly baptized Christians from other traditions, who wish to be brought into Full Communion in the Catholic Church.
