EASTER FUNDRAISING IDEAS

There's always room for cake and Easter is no exception. Pick a date, get together with your school, church, colleagues or friends and get selling some brilliant bakes! Make your event stand out by picking a theme - add an international flavour by trying out recipes from the countries Action Against Hunger works in.

Holding a collection as part of your church service or school assembly is a great way to give this Easter. Make sure that you let people know when the collection is going ahead so that they have their donation ready!

EGG HUNTTurn this family favourite into a fundraiser. Make an event of it by involving your local school, church or wider community, find a location, hide plenty of Easter eggs and charge people to take part. Whether it's your school field or back garden there are lots of suitable spaces to host your hunt. To boost your fundraising serve refreshments in return for donations to stop any hunters going hungry!

EASTER FUNDRAISING IMPACT

Meet Hawa Coulibaly, one of Action Against Hunger’s community health workers living and working in rural Mali. Hawa lives in the village with her 3 children and from their home, she operates a clinic from which she diagnoses and treats malnourished children. In Mali, long distances between remote villages and health centres means that very often malnourished children aren’t receiving treatment at all, or, are only brought to the centres when their condition has become critical. Action Against Hunger are changing this, with an innovative and life-saving approach in training community health workers like Hawa to diagnose and treat malnourished children within the villages that they live. This ground-breaking project is increasing the proportion of malnourished children treated, by transforming access to treatment through community health workers, like Hawa. Community health workers can reach a far higher number of children in a much more cost effective way, and give the same quality of care as a health facility, whilst educating communities in how to spot malnutrition in their children. “Before Hawa, we were living in darkness”, says a mother of one of the children Hawa has treated, “since she has come here, children are healthier and mothers are happier.” Thank you for choosing to support Action Against Hunger this Easter and helping us to ensure that we can reach even more children around the world, and give them a happier, healthier future.
