Conacado is a union of cocoa co-operatives in the Dominican Republic and one of our cocoa suppliers.

Forty-two per cent of the Dominican Republic’s population live below the poverty line. Conacado works with over 10,000 cocoa farmers – providing much needed income.

Ramigia Moya is a 68-year-old widow and cocoa farmer. Thanks to the Fairtrade premiums from Conacado she now has a tap outside her home providing essential fresh water to her family.

trade giving hope to nepalIt’s been almost a year since Nepal was struck by the devastating earthquake and as the region continues to rebuild, trade is providing a valuable source of income and hope for the future.

These beautiful felt items are made by the Association for Craft Producers (ACP) in Nepal who work with over 1000 producers; 27% are from minority ethnic groups and 90% are women.

ACP create jobs that provide a much needed source of income but also improve the confidence and feeling of self-worth of producer members.
