FROM the PRINCIPAL
Welcome back to our wonderful school community. As of Week 4, we are back to running our school in full capacity with all students returning to class.
Welcome back also to Mrs Paterson who also returned after her leave.
I must thank our amazing staff for the manner in which they managed the disruption to education caused by the COVID 19 crisis. It made me so proud to see how brilliantly everyone worked together to ensure our students and families were supported– home education materials supplied, support always available and of course—a special thank you to Mr Fir for being instrumental in creating our youtube channel for students. Staff really thought out of the square and came up with some fantastic ideas. We will endeavor to keep adding to our clips—with yet another one added only this week.
This Semester will be a little different in regards to student reports, due to the restricted learning time. More information will follow.
A big thank you to all staff, students and families who took advantage of our free influenza immunization this week. There were some very brave students — and staff. A big thank you to Miss Clara for handing out the Freddos!!
Once again, a huge thank you to all of our wonderful staff and families. We have an amazing school community.

We have been busy getting our garden planted with herbs and vegetables ready for cooking later on in the year. We have made the most of the sunshine and have been out and about in the school grounds. Our favourite things to do are playing on the swings and riding the trikes.

ROOM 14 CLASS PAGE
It has been a long holiday for all of us, and it was great to see all the students back safe and sound.
Term 2 has started at a fast pace!
Room 14 showed great skills making fried rice in our cooking class, cutting and mixing vegetables and
cracking eggs. The fried rice turned out very yummy!
We made beautiful art work for Mother’s Day, the students glued
their photos on a card blowing love hearts with a loving, caring
message for their mums/grandmas and carers.

amazing Yoga poses. The students are responding really well to the new program and we intend to
continue with it, due to great results.
In our STEM projects we made a
superhero mask combined with a face
mask It is our superheroes in a COVID-
19 era.
Congratulations everyone on your busy
start to Term 2.

ROOM 16 CLASS PAGE
We have been very pleased to welcome our students back into the classroom in room 16. It is especially wonderful to observe the reun-ion of friendships and the sociability amongst the group. The
learned routines and familiar activities have not been forgotten and the children have settled back in to the whole school environment very well.
The students have been extremely focused during fine motor activities and have been enjoying the use of some new activities. Likewise, they are also attending very well to our box rotation session with a focus on literacy, numeracy, science and
social skills. The students always enjoy their cooking sessions and have been learning how to make a toasted sandwich and have en-joyed making won-derful treats with Mrs Oversby every Tuesday.

ROOM 16 CLASS PAGE
Our classroom is looking very smart with a new dividing wall. We have organised the music equipment and sensory chairs in the music room and all of the children enjoy coming to their weekly music class and for some down time. Our students have commenced doing a music session as an individual group and have
been enjoying playing with the ukuleles and percussion instruments.

Stay Safe – Stay hygienic
When to wash your hands:
You should wash your hands thoroughly:
after using the toilet or changing nappies
before, during and after preparing food
between handling raw and cooked or ready-to-eat food
before eating
after using a tissue or handkerchief
before and after attending to sick children or other family members.
after smoking
after handling rubbish or working in the garden
Stay Safe – Keep social distancing
School drop off and pick up
Please accompany your child to the gate for morning drop-off. Ring the bell and await a staff member to greet you who will see your child to their classroom.
Try to refrain from congregating around the carpark/pickup area to talk and catch-up. It is important we all follow the guidelines for safety and out of respect for our school community.
Drink Bottles
Please ensure your child has a drink bottle everyday with their name on it. This is really important as part of the Health Department guidelines are that children should not be drinking directly from school drink fountains. Guidelines state that drink fountains should only be used to refill drink bottles.
