2019 RURAL AND REMOTE SCHOLARSHIPS The program provides up to $10,000 to support early
childhood educators to upgrade their Diploma qualification to a Bachelor degree. To be eligible for a scholarship, candidates must be
working in a rural or remote community preschool, mobile preschool or long day care service and must not have already commenced an early childhood teaching degree course. Applications opened on 14 May and close on 8
June.

START STRONG LONG DAY CARE
Aims to support quality education practices in long day care with a focus on 600 hour enrolments in the year before school Funding is calculated based on the NSW enrolment
data from the August 2017 collection period. Additional funding is given for increased enrolments of Aboriginal children and children from disadvantaged backgrounds Eligible services will be contact by the department.
To be eligible services must obtain an AUSkey and accept the terms and conditions in ECCMS. Initial payments will be made by 30 June 2018 and
payments for each additional equity enrolment will be made in September 2018.

BICULTURAL SUPPORT PROGRAM
The Bicultural Support program has been developed to support community preschools to assist with the inclusion of children from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), refugee or Aboriginal backgrounds. A nominated support worker attends the preschool and
works with the child, family and educators to help the child settle in. 15 hours of Bicultural Support is available to help a child settle in to the preschool. The program is delivered by the Ethnic Community
Services Co-operative. Applications open now

Applications opened on 28 February and closed on 27 March 2018 Over 1,800 applications were received for High Learning Support
Needs over 45 for Minor Capital Works Funding confirmation letters released and payments received early
May, back-dated to January 2018 Funding must be spent in accordance with the spending rules in the

High Learning Support Needs
DISABILITY AND INCLUSION PROGRAM WHAT’S NEXT: SECTOR CAPACITY BUILDING
Sector Capacity Building is a training and support program for preschools, delivered by Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECISs) and other qualified providers The program is currently progressing through
the procurement process The program will commence from July 2018 Services receiving transition funding will be
prioritised for services under the sector capacity building program prior to June 2018

Scholarships already established under the Preschools Disability Support Program (PDSP) will continue to be paid according to the PDSP framework Under the new Disability and Inclusion
Program, the Early Childhood Early Intervention Scholarships program provides opportunities for early childhood professionals working in community preschools to increase their skills in special education studiesWe are currently considering sector feedback
from the November consultations for this program, which will be launched in July
