DALE CITY, VIRGINIA 22193
LODGE 2165 AND CHAPTER 1584
December 2013-January 2014
Hello everyone
Well, it’s the end of November, the temperatures have been dipping, and winter is coming. There is a lot of work being done at the Lodge: painting, electrical, new ramp for the back door and a new roof over the kitchen area. Most of this work is being done by volunteers. Robert Carter has been working on the electric and painting areas where needed. Great job on Roberts’s part and a congratulations for being selected as September Moose of
the Month.
Another member of the Board, Mike McAllister, has stepped forward and is building a new ramp for the back door of the Lodge. We now have a new editor of the Dale City Messenger, Larry Konieczny. This is a big job. Larry will keep the members informed and he is eager to take on this new assignment. Larry
was also as Moose of the Month for October.
December will be a busy month with the Holidays. The Children’s Christmas Party with Santa is on December 14th and the time is 10am to noon. The adult Christmas Party and white elephant gift exchange will be on December 20th starting at 6pm. I hope all will come to the Lodge with their children to see Santa and the fol-
lowing week for the adult party.
On behalf of Board of Officers and myself, we wish all a Blessed Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope to see everyone at the
Lodge over the holidays.

The holidays are fast approaching and for most, our lives will become very hectic. We would like to take a minute and express our sincere thanks for all of our co-workers who have helped us this year. Thank you so much and God bless all of you!! Also, we would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. We are holding a fundraiser bake sale raffle on December 8th and would like to thank everyone in advance for bringing out a baked good for us to raffle off. We would like to express our thanks to everyone who supported us this year with providing baked goods or buying raffle tickets. We have some of the best bakers in the state. For those that don’t know we use the funds raised to support our WOTM efforts throughout the year. The Children’s Breakfast with Santa party will be December 14th from 10 am to noon. Parents please make sure to bring a wrapped gift with your child’s first and last name clearly marked on
the package so that “Santa” can hand out the gifts. We will be serving the children breakfast which will include scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast sticks, milk and juice. For any adults wanting to partake of the breakfast we ask for a donation of $2 to help cover our costs. Anyone who would like to help with the children’s Christmas party please get in touch with Wanda Jenkins or Eva Hatch. We will need a couple of volunteers... Thanks! On January 26 we will have our annual Chicken Shoot! Mark your calendars…we know how much our Lodge and Chapter members enjoy this event. Keep an eye out for our flyers with the details. This year has passed so quickly and we haven’t had the chance to acknowledge our newest Women of the Moose (WOTM) members. WECOME!!! We are planning to host an Orientation session for our new members in the very near future to welcome you per-sonally. More information to follow.
In the meantime we hope you are en-joying your membership and should you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact one of the Women of the Moose Board mem-bers. We are happy to discuss any concerns or questions you may have. We would like to give a big THANK YOU to all of our Lodge and Chapter members who supported our Samsung Table Raffle—without your support we would not be able to meet our obliga-
tions to Mooseheart & Moosehaven.

What Is WOTM?
The Women of the Moose, founded in 1913, is a unit of Moose International, with more than 400,000 women in approximately
1,600 chapters in all 50 states and four Canadian provinces.
Along with other units of Moose International, the Women of the Moose supports the operation of Mooseheart Child City & School , a 1,000-acre community for children and teens in need, located 40 miles west of Chicago; and Moosehaven , a 70-acre retirement
community for members, located near Jacksonville, FL.
Additionally, Women of the Moose Chapters conduct more than $20 million worth of community service (counting monetary dona-
tions and volunteer hours worked) annually.
From the Manager
I would like to wish all of our members a very, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
I want to thank the staff, volunteers, and members who have assisted in making it another great year at the Lodge. I and the Lodge could not have done it without all of your hard work and efforts. Please take the time to thank the staff and the volunteers over the holiday season for all of their assistance throughout the year.
The Lodge hopes to finish this calendar year strong and carry that momen-tum into the start of 2014. We are working to come up with new ideas and fundraisers to increase our membership and finish the 2013-2014 year on a positive note.
Again, I would like to say, “THANK YOU,” to everyone for the effort and support shown to me over the past few months as the Acting Administrator. I really do appreciate it.
“HAPPY HOLIDAYS!”
