Eagle Lake 20 year water sampling history
1. Total phosphorous2. Chlorophyll A as a proxy for algae3. Clarity4. Surface temperature
Measurements taken in deepest portion of lake
2009 NE slough tillage begins
2009 NE slough tillage begins
2009 NE slough tillage begins
Relationship between measured variables
Clarity is greater when Chl A is lower
When the water is called “green”, the concentration of chlorophyll A is greater than when we call the water “clear”
Chl A increases as phosphorous increases
No relationship between measured phosphorous and clarity
Eagle Lake outlet to Hawk creek 2019Damage to NW side of outlet
Eagle Lake Primary concerns1. Sediment inflow from NE slough
• Tillage near water• Could carp be keeping slough stirred?• Channel cut through middle of slough so not slowing water and
dropping sediment?2. Outlet to Hawk creek,
▪ Type of structure▪ Water level▪ Board would like a voice
3. Aquatic invasive species• Zebra mussels are the only one on Eagle
4. Carp population and possible harvest5. Weeds/muck/shallow shore especially on south end near outlet.
