“My friends were shocked!” said the student from China, new in her faith, upon returning to the U.S. in the fall. “They had never seen these kinds of resources and thought they were cool!” She had taken many of our books, pamphlets, and discs to give away to family and friends during her summer break. God has provided AFC’s Mainland Chinese Literature (MC Lit) Ministry with countless open doors like these to distribute strategic resources, changing the minds and hearts of thousands of Chinese. Offering them at very low cost makes possible a dynamically wide distribution.

Over the last year, MC Lit Ministry has sent out over 170,000 pieces from AFC headquarters. Since 1990 the total worldwide distribution is now 4.6 million pieces. This total includes vital projects in other countries. Digital resources are important for this generation. Over 16,000 discs were distributed at very low cost or given away this year (more than 10,000 of them were apologetics DVDs). Hundreds of these were copies of Chinese Treasures, a crucial, exten-sive library of almost 200 books and many other items on CD.

New items added in 2012 include a soft-cover bilingual Bible (popular with non-Christians, just $10), pre-evangelistic marriage and parenting books (most published legally in China), and a 30,000-copy reprint of Five Great Mysteries (a small, powerful evange-listic booklet, now just 10 cents). Many who come to

Christ through Five Great Mysteries use it, in turn, to bring their friends to faith.

A highlight was the opportunity to provide nine essential pastoral resources for several hundred pastors who normally have difficul-ty getting them. These included the books Basic Theology and Stranger on the Road to Emmaus, and digital library Chinese Treasures, at a cost of just $16.07 per pastor. Friends like you made this effective outreach possible.

In this Olympic year, we also publicized For the Love of China, the story of Christian gold medalist Eric Liddell, first published in China in Olympic year 2008. A few thousand were distributed during 2012 both in and outside China. Its promotion continues.

During 2012, one pastor shared a series of articles challenging believers to be dis-ciples and influential servant-leaders. Many churches asked for permission to reprint this popular series in their own publica-tions. Other articles addressed practical topics like sharing Christ’s love with overseas students; a metaphorical explanation of delivery from sin as a butterfly breaking away from a cocoon; God’s calling; and following God wholeheartedly. 2012年中的增長Growing AND Multiplying IN 2012

During 2012 AFC provided exciting training and conference ministries for new believers, emerging workers, Christian leaders, and families.

NEW IN 2012: AFC Great Commission Training Center In June 2012, the AFC Board of Directors unanimously approved construction on the Great Com-mission Training Center, a 13,600 square foot facility that will multi-ply the ministry’s potential to host retreats, training, seminars, and conferences for AFC, churches, ministry leaders, and other organi-zations. The training center’s draw as a refuge in the peaceful Penn-sylvania countryside is projected to attract significant numbers of retreats and meetings. August 10, 2012 marked groundbreaking for the center.

About the Training CenterThe two-story facility, designed by Sims Architects (Paradise, PA), will accommodate up to 204 guests and include a large auditorium, meeting rooms, an open lobby, cutting-edge audio-visuals, and housing for confer-ence participants.

Moving from the present training center to this new facility will: • Expand our capacity from 40 to 204 participants • Allow AFC to offer two-day to two-week intensive training programs in a community atmosphere • Provide guests with comfortable overnight accommodations • Modernize technological capabilities • Encourage interaction using additional smaller training rooms

2012年的新事工：使者大使命培訓中心

2012年六月，基督使者協會的董事們一致同意興建佔地13,600平方英尺的使者大使命培訓中心，為使者協會、教會、事工領袖和宣教機構提供舉辦退修會、培訓、講座和營會的場地，以充分地發揮事工的潛能。此事工策劃的目標就是吸引許多退修會和營會在這裡舉辦。中心興建工程的破土典禮已於2012年八月十日舉行。
