Dear Colleagues,

It is indeed pleasure to see that our team is reviving the newsletter and being brought out as E-Talk. Let me congratulate all those involved.

With consistent efforts of our team, the overall performance of our company is good and in encouraging trend both in domestic and overseas. The records of Health, Safety & Environment(HSE), quality and customer engagement is appreciable.

There are challenges to the growth of our business due to low oil prices, slow infrastructure growth etc. With the new initiatives from Government of India, Power sector and infrastructure business is poised for a revival of growth from 2016-17 and our company is geared up to utilize the opportunity. Globally the oil prices are likely to stabilize in the next one year thus opening up new investments in this sector.

With our diverse approach in allied sectors and expanding geographically in India & Overseas along with our team cooperation, we are confident of realizing the targets.

Let all put our focus together towards this goal.

New Management Practices

By:Mr P Balasubramanian | AGM Projects

• Imagine having missing fingers?

• Imagine the pain and damage you can cause yourself?

• Imagine not being able to tie your own shoe laces?

• Imagine the need of a third person’s help to eat?

• Imagine not being able to sign your name?

To go home in one piece to your family at the end of the working day is paramount.Your hands are your most important day to day tool. If you damage your hands, or particularly and more importantly, your fingers, you will be affected in everything you do. Every day in many industries, people are sustaining hand and finger injuries that are preventable. Using the correct safety device should be an essential part of everyday life.

When using the Finger Saver you are able to keep your hands away from any potential danger of impact. The Finger Saver is designed to be held by you, or it can be held in position by a work colleague to further reduce the risk of injury. The Finger Saver tool allows you to mitigate any risk involved in the task at hand and it gives you the confidence to perform the work activity safely, without injury to your hands. This safety tool is a must if you have a need to move fingers away from the impact zone of a hammer on flogging spanners and from pinch points when using impact wrenches and hydraulic torque equipment.

Payment Banking – New Changing Era Of Banking

Before 1990’s, generally as a general public, many of us know Banking means, visiting to nearby bank branch (1) deposit cash / cheque / DD and take cash from bank whenever we require and (2) banks will lend money and charging interest to customers.

After 1990’s the concept of banking had changed due to various initiatives of Central Government and Reserve Bank of India coupled with information technology advancement. Banking can be done from anywhere and no need to visit branches any more. ATM machines, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking etc had been introduced and banking can be done at our finger tips. Still the objective of minimum one account to every individual has not met.

RBI had formed “Committee on Comprehensive Financial Services for Small Businesses and Low Income Households” under the head Mr. Nachiekt More, former ICICI Bank Director, to provide bank accounts to people in the villages, to bring them into the digital economy, to send money, buy goods and services, thus objective of reaching of banking to every individual. The said committee recommended the formation of new category of bank called Payments Bank.

What is a payment bank? This is for the first time in the history of India's banking sector that RBI is giving out differentiated licences for the specific activities, under which Payment Banker can do following activities:-

a. Enable transfers and remittances through a mobile phone.

b. Offer services such as automatic payments of bills, and purchases in cashless, cheque less transactions through a phone.

c. Issue debit cards and ATM cards usable on ATM networks of all banks.

d. Transfer money directly to bank accounts.

e. Provide forex cards to travellers, usable again as a debit or ATM card all over India.

f. Offer forex services at charges lower than banks.

g. Offer card acceptance mechanisms to third parties

h. They can accept deposits other than NRI up to Rs.1 lac per customer and pay the interest on money

However they can’t offer loans to customers or issue credit cards. Moreover, they have to invest customer’s money into Government securities.

Payment banks can be integrated with your savings bank accounts via IMPS and NEFT transfers. As already mentioned, the payment banks ATM or debit cards will also work on all banks' machines.

In simple, converting cash into virtual money, vice-versa thru any digital channel, i.e an individual can store money with Payment Banker and do all the above mentioned transactions.

Presently RBI had given licence to 11 private players, (this is the first time since banks were nationalized, that private sector business groups have bagged the RBI’s nod for banking services) based on the criteria of:

(a) Reachability (India post, Pay Tm as it already popular, Finotech),

(b) Large mobile network provider (Reliance, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea,),

(c) IT company (Techmahindra)

(d) Finance and Banking (Cholomandalam, National Securities Depository, Dilip Shangavi with IDFC)

Payment Bank – Game Changer in BankingPayment banks target India’s migrant labourers, low-income households and small businesses, offering savings accounts and remittance services with a low transaction cost. It will enable poorer citizens who transact only in cash to take their first step into formal banking. It could be uneconomical for traditional banks to open branches in every village but the mobile phones coverage is a promising low-cost platform for quickly taking basic banking services to every rural citizen. The innovation is also expected to accelerate India’s journey into a cashless economy.

In near future, RBI expects Payment banks can play a crucial role in implementing the government’s direct benefit transfer scheme, where subsidies on healthcare, education and gas are paid directly to beneficiaries’ accounts.

Hence the future of Banking, as a general public, we all used to tell “Payment Bank”.

The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit.

Yoga is a scientific system of physical and mental practices that originated in India more than three thousand years ago. Its purpose is to help each one of us achieve our highest potential and to experience enduring health and happiness. With Yoga, we can extend our healthy, productive years far beyond the accepted norm and, at the same time, improve the quality of our lives.

What is commonly referred to as "yoga" can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word asana, which refers to the practice of physical postures or poses.

Asana is only one of the eight "limbs" of yoga, the majority of which are more concerned with mental and spiritual well being than physical activity. In the West, however, the words asana and yoga are often used interchangeably.

1.TadasanaTada means a mountain. Sama means upright, straight, unmoved. Sthiti is standing still, steadiness. Tafosana therefore implies a pose where one stands firm and erect as a mountain. This is the basic standing pose.

This asana is like the base or the mother of all asanas, from which the other asanas emerge. Most of the standing poses are shifts in a certain part of your body or an individual joint that spring from the Tadasana, while the other parts remain neutral.

Technique Effects

1. Stand erect with the feet together, the heels and big toes touching each other. Rest the heads of metatarsals on the floor and stretch all the toes flat on the floor.

2. Tighten the knees and pull the knee-caps up, contract the hips and pull up the muscles at the back of the thighs.

3. Keep the stomach in, chest forward, spine stretched up and the neck straight.

4. Do not bear the weight of the body either on the heels or the toes, but distribute it evenly on them both.

5. Ideally in Tadasana the arms are stretched out over the head, but for the sake of convenience, one can place them by the side of the thighs. In this case, keep the arms parallel with the body. The fingers together and pointing downwards. Each of the standing poses described below can then be followed easily, starting with the pupil standing in Tadasana with palms by the side of the thighs.

People do not pay attention to the correct method of standing. Some stand with the body weight thrown only on one leg, or with one leg turned completely sideways. Others bear all the weight on the heels, or on the inner or outer edges of the feet. This can be noticed by watching where the soles and heels of the shoes wear out. Owing to our faulty method of standing and not distributing the body weight evenly on the feet, we acquire specific deformities which hamper spinal elasticity. Even if the feet are kept apart, it is better to keep the heel and toe in a line parallel to the median plane and not at an angle. By this method, the hips are contracted, the abdomen is pulled in and the chest is brought forward. One feels light in body and the mind acquires agility. If we stand with the body weight thrown only on Ihe heels, we feel the centre of gravity changing; the hips become loose, the abdomen protrudes, the body hangs back and the spine feels the strain and consequently we soon feel fatigued and the mind becomes dull. It is therefore essential to master the art of standing correctly.

Wedding Bells

Much after ‘your’ life, And ‘my’ life, Has become ‘our’ life…

Existence has purposefully created man and woman a little incomplete so that they could embrace each other and make it complete. However, centuries of conditioning have given the terms husband and wife a very narrow connotation. It has shrunk the scope of this relationship. Drop the words husband and wife from your vocabulary and resolve to be ‘friends for a lifetime’. Then, both the man and the woman will sometimes play mother, sometimes the father, sometimes a cranky kid, then the mentor, the teacher, the mirror… and of course, sometimes husband and wife too. Expand the definition of this relationship and keep it open.

Dignity in a martial relationship is found when you relate to your spouse as a complete individual, and not just the body. Observe each other’s way of thinking, discuss personal values, standpoints and convictions; get sensitized to each other’s feelings, develop emotional compatibility ad take time to sit together in quietude to develop spiritual connectivity. Respect the entirety of the person and relate to the whole person, not just the peripheral aspect of the other – the body.

Don’t try to do in one year what can be done in ten years and don’t try to do in one month what can be done in one year. Most married couples fall all over each other, overdo everything within the first few months and then there is no life left in that relationship. They coexist in a dead relationship. What can be a tree should not die as plant. Take it slow and make it long.

In life, as well as in a good relationship, the past is irrelevant. The present forms the building blocks. The future is very significant, for that is where the two of you will travel together. Discussing day-to-day trifles alone will only make you fall in love. Talk future, talk

dreams, talk ambitions, and resolve to play a part in each other’s growth in a very objective and nonintrusive manner. That’s the way to grow in love.

There is this universal concept that after the wedding, both lives superimpose and there is only one life to live from then on. As a result, women were often forced to live as a shadow of their mother in the name of marriage. They tagged on, but as frustrated, self pitying, sacrificial individuals who felt exploited. The fact is much after YOUR life and MY life has become OUR life, there is still my life and your life. ‘Our’ life is that intersecting the space called marriage. Happiness in marriage depends on how both relate in ‘our’ space and how this space keeps growing with every passing year. However, he will continue to have his life and she should continue to have her life. In fact, she is at her best in ‘Our’ space when she goes to her space and then comes to ‘Our’ space; the same is true with him. This will ensure that you respect each other’s space, each other’s individual likes, dislikes and priorities, and most importantly, this alone will ensure that you do not suffocate each other in the name of love.

Marriage, in its true sense, should improve the quality of life of both involved. Marriage can and should be a continuity of life, magnifying the possibilities for both.

A good marriage has to be nurtured and developed. Building a great marriage is an art; so get artistic.
