    ...Sometimes we get a late

start on Christmas, as peoplesay. Plans to shop or decorate

dont go the way we expected anddisappointment begins to set inearly. One way to get things back

on track is to readjust our thinking

on what is really important thisseason. Of course we know it is allabout Jesus, but how do we get

our spirit to align with our brain so

that our disappointment subsidesand is replaced with peace and

joy? There are two mood changers

that you need to access: a candleand your Bible. Light the candle orcandles and turn off at least the

lights in the room but preferably inthe whole house. Then turn toLuke and begin reading. Read

through at least chapters one and

two, but continue on as the Spiritleads. You may not want to putyour Bible down. Spend some

    December

    10 & 11

    @

    6:30pm

    time, after reading, speaking inti-

mately with your Lord and Sav-ior; not asking Him for anything, but just calling Him Holy, Holy,

Holy Lord God Almighty and soforth. Now, lets finish the rest of

the season in this frame of mind.

Deacon of the Week: Mike Gillette 434.384.3253

The same old song...Meeting a parishioner on the street, a pastor asked why he had not seen the fellowat worship very often. Well, the man complained, it seems like every time I go to

church you sing the same old hymns. Oh, replied the preacher. What hymns arethose? Christ the Lord Is Risen Today and O Little Town of Bethlehem.

Many times we are asked, Who is mydeacon?

To help you, we will list the Deacon of

the Week and his list of families in the

    WLBC Bulletin ENewsletter. There will

be a complete list posted on the bulletin

board near the church office. This

complete list is alphabetical by your last

name. We hope this will help you know

who your deacon is for the year. If you

have any questions, please feel free to

    contact the church office.
