PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Last Friday our students had a fantastic day at the NRL Gala Day at Scotts Head. Most students
proudly displayed what being a respectful, responsible, resilient student at Eungai Public School looks
like. Well done to all our students and thank you to the EPS staff for the great day.
Next week we begin our Special Swimming Scheme. This goes for two weeks. If you have not handed
in the permission note and payment do so as soon as you can. Please make sure your child has
everything they need for the swimming lessons each day. The list of requirements needed for
swimming was sent home in the permission note.
Our potential leaders for 2018 have made an appointment with me and formally nominated
themselves for School Captain. They will be busy writing and practising their speeches over the next
couple of weeks. They will then present their speech and the students from Years 2 to 5 will vote. The
successful captains will be revealed on our end of year presentation morning on Friday 8th December.
Have a great fortnight,
Julie Carr

NRL Touch Football Gala Day
On Friday the 10th our whole school went to Buz Brazil Oval in Scotts Head. The schools that
attended were our school, Stuarts Point, Scotts Head and Medlow.
Everyone was very excited and was talking about it all the way there, when we got there
everyone wanted to get out!
We got told about all the rules and everyone went onto the field and started playing.
We had breaks after 15 minutes of playing and we all just kicked the footballs around
everyone was enjoying it.
Halfway through the day Ritchie had a surprise for us and the surprise was an icy pole and
we could have either sour or normal a lot of people chose sour because it tastes the best and
some people chose normal.
It was a very fun day for all the schools that attended.

This Writing Piece is Connor's Cream-ation!
On Monday the 13th of November I thought I would see if my class mates could work out what I had brought in this time. This is the list of things they said; coffee grinder, lemon grinder, meat mincer,
juice maker, someone even said a motor bike kick start pedal! After all the guesses, I told them it is actually a Cream Separator. The milk goes in the top and it is sucked in to the machine. Then, the
milk comes out one pipe and the cream out the other.

It is that time of year again! Eungai Public will be participating in the annual Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser and we are excited! We're looking forward to learning lots of fun skipping skills and how to keep our hearts healthy! Heart disease is still the single biggest killer of Australians and that is why it is so important that we raise vital funds to support heart health research!! We want to help reduce premature death and suffering from heart disease that affects Australian families every day. Students can sign up now online using the ‘Register’ button on the link provided below. If you chose to fundraise online, once you're signed up you'll be able to customise your page and start fundraising towards our school target. Booklets for fundraising will also be provided to students at school, should they wish to participate in collecting valuable donations. Our school's Jump Off will be held on Friday the 17th of November. Thank you for supporting us this Jump Rope for Heart – we look forward to sharing our new skipping skills soon! Kind regards, Miss Atkins
