How to Access The NIC University
NIC University E-learning User Guide Document :
You can now access The NIC University E-learning portal for E-learning courses usingthe link below in your browser.
http://10.2.100.51:8080/ekp
Your login is your Windows Username e.g. pkariuki and the password is what younormally use to login to your computer. Enter these details in the User ID andPassword fields respectively.

Once you login, you will gain access to the Home Page as shown below. The Enrollmentsection shows the course(s) activities for the learner.

Catalogs
To view the list of available catalogs, rollover the Learning Center tab, then select Catalog Browser.

Catalogs
You will see various catalogs as shown below containing courses inside. Proceed by selecting a catalog that has the course(s) you want to enroll in. Select the Harvard ManageMentor catalog as shown below.

Catalogs
The 44 Harvard ManageMentor modules are categorized into three, Managing Yourself,Managing Others and Managing the Business.
Proceed by selecting a sub-catalog of choice to make your course selection. In theexample below, the sub-catalog Managing Others has been selected.

Selecting the sub-catalog of choice, in this case Managing Others will give you accessto the list of available course(s) within it as shown below.
Proceed by selecting a course you want to enroll in. For instance; Retaining Employees.

To enroll for the course, click the Enroll button in the popup window that appearsand Confirm enrollment button in the subsequent screen that appears as shown below.

You will then get an Enrollment Successful screen as shown below. To start the course,click the Launch this Course link.

The course will launch. Click the Get Started button illustrated below to access the fullcourse material.
The Quick Path link is a summary of the topic if you are pressed for time.

The page will then load as below. Use the navigation links on the left to go throughthe course. The Learn link contains the key concepts relating to the course. You can alsoPractice what you learn through interactive exercises that simulate real test scenariosas well as use the Apply link to access various steps, tips and tools specific to theHarvard topic.
To navigate forward or back use the links circled below. Topics you have alreadyviewed will have a tick against them.
To exit a course, click the X button of the course window.

If you have enrolled for a SkillSoft course from the SkillSoft catalog, click theBegin Course button to start the course from the beginning. This is illustrated below.

A Course Pre-test gauges your understanding of the course material after which the course content will be adjusted based on your competency.
To take a Course Pre-Test, click the Progress & Tests tab, then click the Take Course Pre-test button to start the test.

Use the navigation buttons circled below to navigate through the course. You can goforward, back, pause, mute the audio, show audio captions as well as disable auto advance.
To exit a course, select the X button inside the course window. This will enable you tosave your learning progress and you can continue learning from your bookmarked location the next time you launch the course.

To continue making progress in a course you have already started learning from where you last stopped, click the Return to Bookmark button shown below when you next launch the course.

The Help link at the top right of the screen will gives you access to an Online User Guide and Help Manual.
To contact the e-learning administrator for any enquiry, click the Contact Us link.
To log off, click the Logout link.
