• The only way to change local policy is to do

it yourself. How do I get elected to city

council, especially after four losing

campaigns in a row.

• I love sailing – but buying a boat is an anchor

solution. I could join a sailing club, time-share

a boat, offer to crew other’s boats on the

weekends.

• I want to play with babies, so I could

volunteer at the community center.

OR I want to be more involved with my daughter,

so I’ll start reading what she reads.

• I want to engage with the council’s work, not

run campaigns. I could look for unelected job

openings. I could find the easiest council

member to work with and volunteer with her.
