Arrival and Departure at school Afternoons Thank you to all parents for collecting your children before 3.45pm in the afternoons. We allow you 25 minutes to collect children at the end of the day due to the busy road. The children must be on the silver seats and on the lookout for their parent’s car and must be collected by 3.45pm, no exceptions. Mornings It is very important that children are not at school any earlier than 8.40am. Once again, I am giving a 10 minute window, but parents must realise that there is no supervision. Children are to be seated under the bus shelter only. If your child is at school before then, you will be asked to make other arrangements. Teachers do not begin supervision until 8.50am. If children are coming to school early for band, sport training etc. then siblings must go to that activity until the bell rings. Thank you for your support in this very important matter. Term 3 Invoice Final payment for Term 3 invoice is Friday 17 August. It is really important that payment is made for activities, as we don’t want children to miss out. Thank you to all those families who have finalised their Term 3 payment. The Jenolan Caves excursion payment is due 24 August.

P&C Father’s Day Raffle Tickets The raffle tickets were sent home with children this week. The prizes are amazing and half of the money raised will be sent to ‘Buy a Bale’ for our farmers who are experiencing very difficult drought conditions. Once again, thank you for your support.

Debating Report What a great week in debating!

On Monday our interschool team debated Samuel

Gilbert with the topic "Schools, creating

tomorrow's world" and Dural was the negative! It

was a very tricky topic but the team worked very

hard and won this debate! Congratulations to

Joshua C, Melinda X, Isaac H and Kerry M.

On Wednesday, our Premier's debating team

debated Roselea with the topic "Schools should

teach compulsory swimming lessons" and Dural

was the affirmative. Dural won this debate very

convincingly. Congratulations to Devina S,

Andrew P, Sebastian U-P and William T.

Tournament of Minds

Our team is working very hard on the Arts

Challenge! The script is done, props are being

made and they are getting ready for the

performance on the 26th August!

Good luck Iman, David, Tammie, Devina,

Jonathan, Alice and Emily!

All children from Yrs 3-6 need to bring a roll of masking tape to Art, in preparation for the Art Show, starting from next week. Thank you.

Mr Field

An open letter from Bivianos who are

generously offering their car park for

school parking during pick-up time. Please

be considerate of our neighbours.

Parents parking on the driveway is becoming a hazard and a problem as follows:

1. It is a 2 way driveway and there is not space for cars to cross each other with parents parking on the side. We have guests and patrons trying to enter and exit the property and there is NOT room for cars to be parked on the side as well as having 2-way traffic.

2. Parents walking with their children down the driveway as other cars and parents are trying to make U-Turns on the driveway is a big hazard. As it is a privately owned driveway, if something happens to any of the parents and students on the property, we are liable.

3. Parents are trying to make U-turns on the driveway which is causing issues for our patrons and guests trying to enter and exit the venue.

The driveway needs to be kept free at all times. It is a 2-way road - there is NOT space or allowances for parking.

I am happy to offer our main parking lot for parents to use if required but we need to ensure that parking on the driveway is ceased as soon as possible. As we approach our busy period, we host a lot of lunch events and the parking on the driveway cannot continue to be an issue in the future and further action will need to be taken if it continues.

If you would be so kind as to work with us to ensure that this issue is rectified before it becomes a permanent problem that would be much appreciated.

Dear Parents, We now have a couple of vacancies for Thursday and Friday afternoons. If you are looking for a permanent placement for these days, please contact the centre and we can book you in. If you have registered with us, then casual bookings are also available and welcome. As the mornings are getting a little warmer, we will start our fruit smoothies (the SMOOSH) again. This provides children with a nutritious and delicious fruit filled drink. This feeds hungry minds and is a wonderful way for children to start a busy school day. We are currently getting our spring vacation care plan ready for the next school holidays. One of the ideas we are throwing around is a trip to Coney Island at Luna Park. This is an exciting way to spend a day having fun in Spring. This day will fill up quickly as there will be limited seats so when the programme is out, make sure you book to avoid disappointment. Your ideas are also welcome, so please let us know what great activity your child loves and we can incorporate this in our programme.

The children are loving being ‘Earth Warriors’ and are busy planting at home and bringing in their pictures to go on our Environment wall. Please note that we are ‘doing’ as well as ‘saying’ and we are a Palm Oil free Centre. The children love that we are doing something even though it is small to help save the Orang-utans in their world.
