We started the term with online learning and many restrictions in place and we are finishing the term back in classrooms enjoying face to face teaching and learning. Either way we all deserve a break from learning and time to enjoy some rest and relaxation. These holidays we are allowed to travel around NSW and visit friends and family. I hope you all have an enjoyable break. Stay safe, travel safely, continue to follow the social distancing guidelines and safe hygiene practises. We will see you back at Roselea on Tuesday 21 July. I am very proud of the learning that has taken place across the school and at home this year. We will have the chance to celebrate all our successes during Education Week next term. Education Week is August 3 – August 7. Traditionally we have Open Classrooms and a Showcase Assembly. Unfortunately this year due to restrictions we will be celebrating Education Week slightly differently. There will be events for the students during the week and we will be uploading photos and videos of how Roselea Public School is celebrating ‘Learning Together’ throughout the week so that the students can share with their families all the great teaching and learning happening at Roselea. The Principal’s Morning Tea this term will be held over 2 days. We have 40 students who throughout term 1 & 2 have earnt a Principal’s Award. Congratulations to all the students and I look forward to having you to morning tea on Thursday or Friday. We will be welcoming back Mrs Cumberland in term 3 who will be teaching 1/2D Monday – Wednesday and Mrs Douglas will continue on 1/2D on a Thursday and Friday. We also welcome Mr Cox who will be our Relieving Stage 2 Assistant Principal and teaching 3/4A. We thank Mrs Wood for all her work with 3/4A during term 1 and 2 and her commitment to the school. If you have a concern about your child’s learning or a question, we ask that you speak to the class teacher in the first instance and then if necessary the Assistant Principal responsible for the stage which is K – 2 Mrs Zucconi, Stage 2 Mr Cox and Stage 3 Mr Chong. You are able to contact the school office to make an appointment to see or speak with the class teacher or relevant Assistant Principal. Roselea Public School has been given the opportunity to participate in the Kids Hope Program. KIDS HOPE AUS is Australia’s largest early intervention, school-based mentoring program. It has been impacting the lives of children in Australian schools since 2004. Over that time thousands of children have been matched with mentors in primary schools. Caring relationships with mentors have a significant impact on children because they help to meet their emotional and social development needs and enhance their capacity to learn. KIDS HOPE AUS mentored children consistently show increased self-esteem, confidence and resilience. We have 9 mentors who have received training through Carlingford Baptist church. The program is not religious based at all and parents of selected students will receive a consent form to sign if they wish their child to participate. The school understands that there are more than 9 students who we feel would benefit from such a program but we are limited to the number of mentors we receive. The mentors are all volunteers. I have included an information sheet about the program. Enjoy the holidays everyone. Online Enrolment System Online enrolment for new students is now available at our school! If your child lives within the local area and is an Australian or New Zealand citizen and wishes to enrol at our school, you can enrol them through our school website under the ‘Enrolment’ tab.

For further information please come and see us in the office.

We are excited to announce we are rolling out the new Online Enrolment System from Monday, 18 May 2020.

The Online Enrolment System is designed to provide flexibility for parents to submit an Application to Enrol in a NSW Government School online at the time that best suits you. The application can be accessed on all browsers and mobile devices including iOS and Android.

The online application process is currently restricted to:

• Enrolments into local schools only

• Children who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or permanent residents

• Children who live in NSW. We offer our support and encourage you to complete your application to enrol online. If however, you do not feel comfortable completing an application online, a paper copy will be available for collection from the front office or can be downloaded from the Department’s ‘going to a public school site.’
