    Properties And Origins Of MetalsIron (IP = Iron Piece)

    This gray metal is the most common element of any worth in most realms. It is very heavy, rusts easily, and is relatively soft. It is

    rumored to be an effective weapon against certain types of undead creatures.

    Copper/Bronze/Brass (CP = Copper Piece)These fairly common metals and alloys carry about the same value. Varying from brown to red to bright yellow in color, these metals

    are somewhat lighter and harder than iron. They are often used in the construction of basic weapons and armor.

    Nickel/Steel (NP = Nickel Piece)Usually light or dark gray in color these metal alloys can be polished to a mirror-like finish and they have about the same worth. Both

    are reasonably heavy, hard and strong. They are often used for making and/or reinforcing armor and weapons.

    Silver (SP = Silver Piece)This shiny gray/white metal is reasonably hard, strong and reflective. It is considered a pure metal and is popular in the construction of

    holy items as well as jewelry. It is rumored to make effective weapons against certain types of undead.

    Gold (GP = Gold Piece)

    This shiny yellowish orange metal is very rare. In its pure state, it is both heavy and soft. The rarity and beauty of gold makes it thefavorite currency of many kingdoms. In fact, it is considered the standard used for measuring the values of all other metals. It is also

    used to make expensive jewelry and to gild fancy weapons and armor.

    Platinum (PP = Platinum Piece)This metal has a white/silver color and is more rare then gold. Platinum is highly prized for its reflective properties. It is suitable for

    making expensive jewelry and forging magical weapons and armor of minor quality.

    Mythril (MP = Mythril Piece)This metal is white with flecks of green and/or blue in its color. Mythril metal is very strong and light. It is suitable for making quality

    magical weapons and armor.

    Argonium (AP = Argonium Piece)

    This flat red metal comes from the stars. It is highly resistant to magic. It is lighter in weight then Mythril, but much more fluid innature. It is highly prized by blacksmiths for its ability to deflect magical energies.

    Adamantium (To Heavy Too Be A Coin?)

    Deep blue in color, Adamantium is an extremely heavy and hard metal. It is used in the making of powerful artifacts, including

    weapons and armor.

    Voldarium (Too Heavy To Be A Coin?)This metal is a light-absorbing black in color, it is found at the core of planets and is unnaturally heavy. Voldarium is unbreakable

    and unliftable by any normal means. Furthermore, it is 100% resistant to normal magic and tangible in all planes of existence

    simultaneously. (Prime material, Ethereal plane, etc) This metal is a favorite with the gods for the construction of indestructible

    artifacts.

    5 A very strudy chest is being forced open. 5 Shop Keeper wont take money only trades.

    6 A giant hawk is being fed. 6 Shop stinks horribly, real slow service.

    7 A huge cage is being built. 7 Fire breaks out in store.8 Magic armor is being repaired. 8 Merchandise disappears when it leaves store.

    9 A special saddle is being fitted to a warhorse. 9 Shop Keeper is a high-level pickpocket.

    Non-Player Characters (NPCs)

    The Moon Dragon Inn receives visitors from all over the world. Below is a 1d100 random visitor table. (Strangers from far off

    places.) The table below provides very basic information about each NPC. Loyalty, courage, honesty, likes, dislikes, hates, fears,

    sayings and mannerisms. Depending on their level of interaction with the player characters, the Game Master may choose to include

    information such as level, attributes, skills and equipment in accordance with whatever game system they are currently using.

    Different personalities will do different things in various circumstances. Based on the notion that most creatures if given a choice

    will act in their own self-interest, three aspects of their personality become very important when dealing with behavior.

    Loyalty: As the player characters(s) get to know a NPC, strong bonds may be forged. Loyalty is a measure of such bonds, and may be

    modified positively or negatively by a player character(s) charisma and behavior. In any situation that pits the interests of the NPC

    against those of player characters, a loyalty check should be made. (A percentile roll under the modified loyalty rating indicates

    success.)

    Courage: Some people are born to be brave, other are born to be cowards. Should an NPC be placed in a dangerous situation, a

    courage roll should be made. If the NPC makes that roll, he/she remains in control of his/her wits. If the NPC fails, a loyalty check

    should be made to determine if they abandon their friends, or remain with them. (Perhaps in a terrified state.) Loyalty outweighs

    courage.

    Honesty: Almost everyone has their price. Player characters often accumulate the wealth of kings. When entrusting such wealth to a

    NPC, an honesty check should be performed. Should they pass, the NPC has decided that honesty is the best policy. But should they

    fail, it means greed has gotten the better of them. However, they still might feel enough loyalty towards their employers to preventthem from taking something they really, really want. A loyalty check should be made. Finally, because stealing from player characters

    does pose a certain risk to the NPC, a courage check should be made to see if the NPC has the guts to go through with it.

    Likes: Everyone likes something. For the purpose of game mechanics, a NPC who likes something should receive a 25% penalty in

    regards to that something when making loyalty, courage, or honesty checks.

    Hates: Everyone hates something. For the purpose of game mechanics, a NPC who hates something should receive a 25% penalty in

    regards to that something when making loyalty, courage, or honesty checks.

    Fears: Most people have fears of some sort. For the purpose of game mechanics, an NPC who fears something should receive a 50%

    penalty in regards to that something when making loyalty, courage, or honesty checks.

    Saying: People often have a favorite saying they tend to say often under various circumstances. These sayings help define theirpersonality and will often give players some insight into the NPCs character. (A good Game Master will never disclose the actual

    numbers.)
