IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

""APPROVED MUSIC"

BEGINN ING with the June issue, a part of each future Bulletin will bereserved for a list of music to be published under the heading of IIApproved

Music!' These lists will be selected from the entire catalog by a com-mittee or musical experts, chosen for their eminent qualifi

EXPERTSELECTION cations and high standing. This committee, with the enor-

mous Pianola Catalog at its disposal, will subject each composition to a musical test, giving consideration to its beauty and effectiveness asa Pianola selection. All cornpositions meeting the necessary req 'lrements willbe approved and announced under the above heading.

The Pianola Catalog of to-day contains the most complete and variedcollection of selected musical compositions ever published. Its rapid growthand the broad scope of the music it represents have rendered discriminatingselection somewhat difficult, and intimate knowledge of its contents quiteimpossible, even to the most ardent .follower of music, student or expert.

It is the purpose of "Approved Music" to serve as a guide toTHE h d' , " I' f' II d t . .V OSE t e iscrirnrnating se ectron 0 mesic genera y, an 0 encourage

P RP familiarity with notable works of som e of the lesser-known composers and obscure works of great composers, by directing especial attention tocertain compositions, the excellence of which wo uld ordin arily escape notice. As approval of the works of great m asters and celebrated' composers w ouldbe superfluous, "Approved Music" lists will be devoted largely to works ofpronounced merit by comparatively unknown composers.

The addition of this valuable new feature to the Bulletin is consistentwith the Aeolian Company's established policy of providing every possible

advantage and conv enience for its patrol1sr.regardless ofAEOLIAN expense or the magnitude of the undertaking. T his Company '

ADVANTAGESis perhaps the only concern in the world of music

qualified to authoritatively and successfully achieve a work: of such singularimportance.

As all compositions published under u Apprdbed Music" ca.rrythe endorsement of eminent musical authority, they arepsrticulsrly recommended to the etiention of our patrons.

For Those Who Prefer Or8an Music

THE AEOLIAN ORCHESTRELLE

"rhile the plano IS unquestionably the 1110st popular of all

musical instruments, there are still lllany people who are appealed

to 11101·e strongly by the tones of a good organ.

The trouble has been, however, that a majority of these

people could not themselves play the organ. Also it has been

hard to find an organ suitable for- the modern home.

Both of these difficulties are entirely overcome In the

AEOLIA~ ORCHESrr"RELLE. Here is an instrument which

while not nearly so large nor expensive as a pipe-organ, is still

very similar to it in tone, and which anyone can play.

,\re suggest that if you have not yet heard the ~.\EOLl..-\.X

ORCHESrr'RELLE, you take the first opportunity to do so.

You will be surprised at the "'"ay this instrument renders

orchestral 111USIC and at the added charm it gives to even simple

popular airs.
