Action Requested
Authorization to award IFB15-3074OV, Duette Preserve FDOT D-1 Mitigation Project to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder Bul-Hed Corporation, Mulberry, FL, for a total of $1,310,567.38 based on final completion of work by November 29, 2017, and to authorize the County Administrator or his designee to execute the Agreement and simultaneously accept the performance / payment bond and insurance certificate.

Background Discussion
This project is to be performed pursuant to a Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) between The State of Florida Department of Transportation and Manatee County (I-75 Projects). FDOT Financial Management No.:436321-1-C8-01/02/03.
The mitigation project is comprised of approximately 70.3 acres within the Duette Preserve. The project consists of the clearing, excavation, grading, structure installation, and planting on the +/-70 acre mitigation project site for the enhancement and creation of +/-63 acres of wetland habitat and +/-4 acres of upland habitat. This project will also include transporting the excess excavated material from the mitigation project site and stockpiling the material approximately 1 mile west within the Duette Preserve.
Formal, competitive sealed bid procedures were followed resulting in a total of six (6) bidders submitting a sealed bid for consideration.
