The full paper will be placed on the CD-ROM. This summary may be provided to describe the principal subject and purpose of the paper, but it is not compulsory. The summary should be a maximum of 10 lines (Times New Roman, 12pt). Keywords: maximum about 7 keywords (Times New Roman, 12pt, Italics), for example: membranes; shells; NURBS; walls; topology; high-rise buildings. 1. Introduction The page limit for the full Paper is the maximum of eight pages. Please do not insert page numbers or headers and footers. These will be added later by the publisher. All initial submissions must be made in the final form, assuming that no revisions will be necessary although manuscripts will be reviewed and may in some cases be returned to authors for revision before publication. The submitted full paper should not be under simultaneous consideration by any other publisher and not have been published elsewhere in substantially similar form. All written material must be in good English. The style, grammar and spelling should be carefully edited by a person with an excellent command of English and a good understanding of engineering terminology. Papers with poor structure and many grammatical mistakes could be rejected. 2. Guidelines for Papers 2.1 First page The first half-page should include the title, information on the author(s) and the summary with keywords, followed by the introduction. SummaryThe one-page paper will be contained in the Proceedings book of IASS2012 symposium.

1. IntroductionThe page limit for the full Paper is the maximum of eight pages. Please do not insert page numbers or headers and footers. These will be added later by the publisher. All initial submissions must be made in the final form, assuming that no revisions will be necessary although manuscripts will be reviewed and may in some cases be returned to authors for revision before publication. 2. Guidelines for Papers

2.1 First pageThe first half-page should include the title, information on the author(s) and the summary with keywords, followed by the introduction. The title (Times New Roman, 18pt, Bold, centred, and NOT in Italics) should have a maximum of 60 characters, without any abbreviations. Data for each author should be presented with four information only as follows

First name and FAMILY NAME (family name in CAPITALS)University or CompanyCity and Country (all Times New Roman, 12pt)E-mail address (Times New Roman, 12pt, Italic)

A short Summary should be provided describing the principal subject and purpose of the paper. The Summary should be a maximum of 10 lines (Times New Roman, 12pt). A maximum of seven Keywords (Times New Roman, 12pt, Italic) should be given after the Summary. The page limit of the full paper is eight pages maximum.

2.2 Fonts and format to be usedPlease use this document as a template for your paper. Fonts, sizes and spacing should be used as they are used in this document. Page size is A4, top and bottom margin 25 mm, left and right margin 20 mm.

2.2.1 Body textBody text should be written in Times New Roman, 12 pt, line spacing, 12 pt. A new paragraph starts with an indent.

2.2.2 HeadingsHeadings should be limited to three levels and numbered appropriately using the decimal system. Main headings (e.g. 1. Introduction) should be written in Times New Roman bold 14 pt, line spacing 14 pt. Subheadings should be written in Times New Roman, 12pt, bold, line spacing, 12 pt. Third level headings should be written in Times New Roman, 12 pt, line spacing, 12 pt. Provide a single line (12 pt) space before all headings (i.e. between the previous section and the heading), and place a half blank line (6 pt) after all headings and before the following text, graphic or table. Heading numbers should be left aligned with the text indented 10 mm. A heading that would otherwise be stranded at the bottom of a page should be moved to the top of the following page by adding a blank line before it.

2.2.3 Captions and lettering in figures and tablesThe captions of figures and tables should be written in Times New Roman, 11pt, Italic, line spacing, 12 pt.

2.3 Graphics (drawings and photographs) and tablesCreate graphs and line drawings electronically, and insert them electronically into the final document. Photographs should also be inserted electronically into the document and need not be very high resolution. The resolution should be 150x150 dpi (dots per inch) for photographs and 300x300 dpi for drawings. All figures and tables must be inserted near the location where they are first described. All figures and tables should be numbered with Arabic numerals. Provide a figure number and caption below each figure or photograph and a table number and caption above each table.

We provide examples of Table and Figure as follows

Table 1: Table Caption, 11pt, Italic

Basis function Knot span [0,1]

N 1,2 (ξ ) (1−ξ )2

N2,2 (ξ ) 2ξ (1−ξ )

N 3,2 (ξ ) ξ2

2.4 EquationsInsert all equations using the equation editor (integrated in Microsoft Word), as text if possible, or as an image. Equations should be referenced with a number shown in brackets (1), to the right of each equation. Here is an example of the equation.

N i , 0 (ξ )={1 if ξ i≤ξ<ξ i+10 otherwise

(1)

N i , p (ξ )=ξ−ξ iξ i+p−ξ i

N i , p−1 (ξ )+ξ i+ p+1−ξξ i+p+1−ξ i+1

N i+1 , p−1 (ξ )(2)

2.5 FootnotesFootnotes should not be used.

2.6 UnitsUse SI units exclusively. For decimal separator use a comma ‘,’ and not a point ‘.’.

2.7 ConclusionsThe paper should finish with clear and concise conclusions.

2.8 AcknowledgementsAny acknowledgements should follow the conclusions if necessary.

2.9 ReferencesReferences should be listed in the order in which they appear in the paper. Provide a reference number in square brackets [1] and use an overhanging indentation of 10 mm. In the text the citation should be made by using the appropriate reference number in square brackets. In the list of references, authors’ names should be followed by the initials. The titles of books, journals and proceedings should be in italics. The year of publication and the page number(s) should be given.[1] Lee SJ, Bae JE, and Hinton E., “Shell topology optimization using the layered artificial

material model”, International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Vol. 47, No. 6, 2000, pp. 843-867.
